I need the help of a computer wizard!
I’ve brought a small “Sports” video cam. You know the type I mean, eBay has gallons of them for sale. Hers’ a picie of it. (sitting on the tail of a brightly coloured foamy so you can see it better.)
......... (http://www.gliderireland.net/forum/images/uploads/Happy%20Days/Camera.jpg)
The seller only speaks classic mandarin. Unless you ask him “How to pay for the purchase” then, miraculously, he is able to understand English.
So what’s my problem?....... I don’t speak Mandarin! Oh, and ………….
When I down load the video file from the camera to my pc, I get a very annoying date & time displayed in the bottom of the screen. :!:
I suspect that there is a way to remove this unwanted intrusion,…..but I have no idea how! :?:
I don’t know if this is relevant or not, but written in part of the instruction manual is a piece about setting the correct time & date.
Quote:
4.Time set
There is a CD with the product which contains a file named time synchronization file. Please copy it to TF card. When connect D001 with computer, whose time will be displayed with computer synchronously.
The detail as following:
1. build a text called TAG.TXT under root directory of card.
2. open TAG.TXT,write synchronous date according to enclosure stricktly.
Details as following:
[date] need space with newline
2009/07/22 need space with newline
12:00:00
Power on the machine everytime, system will check and analyse TAG.TXT, then set system time according to file time. After that the text will be deleted by system automatically.
Like I said, I don’t know if the above is relevant to the complete removal of the time & date from the screen image.
Anyone got any ideas on what I should do? :)

Hello
It's the same system than key chain camera.
You can try this
Open Tag.txt
2011/10/10
22:26:00 N
On my key chain ,i can remove the stamp

Hi Erwan,
Thanks for your advise.
I have tried to remove the time & date file but when I come to close the window it tells me that it is “read only” and can not be removed just by clearing the numbers.
Do you have any other ideas please?
Merci
Keith

Look files property ,right clic on file maybe ut look like read only. Unactivate it and retry.

Thank you for your advise Erwan. :D
I am going to return this camera to the seller because it will not work properly. (Sometimes it will not turn off and only stops working when the battery is empty! :( )
I will try and change it for one that does not show the time and date. :)
Once again, thanks for your help

Hello
All micro camera have date stamp. Buy the key chain on Hk. It works correctly. But have a class6 memory card for have smooth video.

Hi Keith , with the camera you purchased you are unable to remove the time/date stamp, you can set it to the correct date etc. using a simple program.
I have key cameras with no time stamp, they worked out a £40 !!!!!!
still cheap when you consider how good they are !
This video was done with the cameras, enjoy the crazy Irish flyers

Doh! do you mean I’ve wasted €12? I think I’ll go and cry somewhere!
Are you saying that the above video was shot with £40 fob cameras? (How do you know?)
BTW Richard, just changing the subject slightly. Regarding your 3m Fox. Does it have a ballast tube in it. I know it seems an odd question to be asking on this topic but I’m an Englishman, so you have to make allowances.

Hi Keith, I know that the video was made with the cameras cause the pilots father is a friend that I meet at the airshow this last few years. Since he got the cameras he uses the cameras on all 4 of his planes.
The 3.2 Fox HAS NO BALLAST TUBE !
There is plenty of room to add CG weight/ballast if you require it.
We have flown ours in 35-40 mph winds so far thay seems happy with the weight.
My plane was heavier than Johns, I used Heavier servos for the rudder and ailerons and a 12g servo in the elevator, so far the micro servo has held up really well.

Thanks for that info Richard. It’s all ‘food for thought.” :?:
