Frankly speeking Fred I have some problems to believe this incredible numbers. when I see the guy taking the measurement its more then doubtable that this is a reliable manner to measure anything.

It's how they measure your car for speeding offences, and it stnads up in court... :) Could be out by 10-20mph and it's still an outrageous speed.
So, well see model gliders with super-critical wing sections next??? :shock:

Good point, and even if the radar gun where specifically developped for them, I think this is why these are not official FAI record (AFAIK), as the speed must be measured between 2 fixed point or circuit to be 100% accurate (like the current speed record I believe...)
But still a great achievment though.
