Wanted / 3.5mm Bullet Connectors
« on: June 17, 2010, 12:03:13 PM »
I am looking for some of these if anyone has a few they could sell to me. Ideally 3 sets.

I have plenty of the larger 4mm (15 sets) which I do not use so I could trade if you want to, or can pay.

Thanks,

Anthony

Radios / Wing Setup
« on: October 16, 2009, 15:13:25 PM »
Hi all,

I am putting together a flying wing and just got stuck at this (simple) problem.

When i push the stick up, the right aileron moves up and left aileron down and opposite when stick is pushed left!
When i push the stick left, both ailerons go up and opposite when pushed right!
I do not plan on flying with my optic 6 sideways :)

What is the best solution i could try for this? I did not have time to try anything yet but will do over the weekend, read the manual again.

Using Channel 1 for right servo and Channel 2 for left servo as suggested in manual, also not using v tail mixer but have one if i need it.

Slope Soaring / My 1st flight over 1 hour in duration.
« on: July 29, 2008, 11:24:26 AM »
Hi,

I went up to Kilakee last friday evening on my way to Wexford and I had with me, a Multiplex Easystar with stock motor and battery. Bought in Island Models for my Father to get into flying.

The weather was great, very little breeze blowing straight up the slope. :D  I had not flown in the last few months due to baby twins so I was going to make the most of it.

My previous longest flight was only 20mins   in Mt Leinster, with an electric 'Daisy'

Anyway, the Easystar was a great little flier, it just gained height so easily and was very easy to control. Flying was so smooth and responsive. I would recommend this as an ideal beginner plane. I took it easy doing figure 8's etc just getting the feel for it. I did not notice the time pass so quickly. My total non stop fly time  was 1 hour and 8 mins. When I decided to land it was fun as the plane did not want to land, it just glides forever :)  Motor was not used during launch or flight.

I got 20mins flying in last night on my local soccer pitch and the motor was powerful enough for the plane to get up high and over the tall trees. Also it could fly in small 20mtr circles slowly and smoothly, as i ran down the battery. :D

Trainer / Trainer
« on: June 20, 2007, 11:27:15 AM »
My first venture in the Radio Control scene was when I purchased this 'Trainer' back in 1995.

I brought it out to the Pheonix Park and the Safety Officer gave it its maiden flight. However on landing it flipped head over heels and damaged the tail fin.

I repaired this but never attempted another flight. It'll probably stay in the shed for another year or two and then i'll put in a new engine etc and give it a proper shot.

Here's a few more pictures.

I'll take a picture of the transmitter and put it up here aswell.

Anthony

p.s.   I was told it was a 'YAMMAMOTO', if you beg to differ let me know, it would be nice to have its proper name.

Slope Soaring / Unknown Model
« on: February 13, 2007, 18:00:28 PM »
I recently aquired this model and have no name for it or its type, as its an old plane. Does anyone think know it? It needs some work and servos etc but I hope to have it built in a few weeks and you all are welcome to fly it as I learn on the daisy.

Sports / Daisy Electric Glider - I need HELP with assembly
« on: October 31, 2006, 17:10:22 PM »
I have recently bought my first rc plane which is a DAISY electric glider. As a complete novice I know I will struggle with assembling this and I may need your advice/help (if you don't mind the stupid questions  ).

Q1. Has anyone got any pics of their assembly which may be of benefit to me?

So far, I have cut out & trial fitted the vertical fin. Next is fitting the prop and motor which is half complete.

Q2. How does the engine fit securely in place? Do I then attach the prop?

Thank You!!! :D
