Hi
I have been working on this glider since Autum last year. Here are a few pitures of it I took about a month ago. I have made some more progress on it since. I'll post some more photo of it in a few days. Hope the photos come out. This is my first time posting photo's.

Hey Alan,

This weekend no. Next weekend maybe. I'll try to get more up to date photos this evening.

Here are those picture. All the major parts of the glider are complet. All that is left is to fill some spots on the glider where I, err.... missed with the balsa plane :) . Then it will be ready for covering. The V-tail is just taped on in these pictures. It will be glued on after covering. Then of course after covering I'll put the radio gear in and she's ready. :D

That's a nice build Alan !
I can't see where you've missed some spots here !
But if you need to use a filler, you can use the Polyfilla "No sanding". Easy to find, that's the lightest box on the shelves ! :)
The radio gears are already fitted ?

No, the radio gear is not fitted yet. For filler I was going to use wood glue mixed with balsa dust because i'm going to cover the wings in transparent film and the wood glue mixed with balsa dust will hopefully be the same colour as the balsa and not show up through the film. I think Polyfilla is white, but i may be wrong. Only problem is that i think wood glue mixed with balsa dust is not that easy to sand.
-
Yep, you're right. Polyfilla is white, but the glue + balsa dust will be really hard to sand.
May be another filler in wood color.. Bring a piece of balsa with you when you go shopping !
That will do it if you don't ave loads to put because they are generally really heavy.

I'll try that thanks. I don't have much to fill anyway so weight wise it should be OK.

very nice job Alan.looks great! a nice gentle floater for the summer thermals.if we get the sun back that is! is it strong enough for the bungey?(never used one).
just an idea maybe you could use polycell no sanding filller and get a little tin of balsa coloured paint!? easy to sand and the right colour.i know it's crazy but it might just work!!

Thanks Joe. It should go up on a bungee no problem. I flew from a bungee for the first time a week or two ago. Its realy easy to do :D .
-
Almost there. The model is fully covered now. Just have to glue on the V-tail (hopefully straight :) ), install the radio gear and then balance it. Then hopefully it will be ready to fly. :D

Thanks Joe. Here's an update. It Flies!!! :D . Need only a few cliks of right trim and up trim to keep her flying straight. It flies great, the best glider I have ever flown. Flew her on Wednesday eveing from Lacken. Here's a picture of her in flight. I also have a flim of her (about 40sec) but I'm not sure how to upload it to the wedsite, also the file is to big (about 70mb) not sure how to sompres it with out losing to much detail.
