Hi Fred,
Further to your text ;
Go to Enniscorthy following the N11 for Wexford/Rosslare.
This will bring you to the lower part of town and across the river Slaney, going east, crossing what is known as 'The Old Bridge'.
As you get on to the old bridge stay in the left lane and set the trip metre.
Keep left as you leave the bridge.
Stay on this road for 6.4km (Do not veer left at Mr Price or right for Blackwater later).
At 6,4 km there is a small road on the left - take this road.
Follow up and around to the left until you pass a large new two story house on the left.
Then just as you pass the next house, a bungalow, turn left into a small lane (no tarmac).
Follow this to the end !!!!
So to recap ;
Once on the old bridge and in the left lane you drive straight for 6.4km, then turn left and then left again after approx 1.5km.

What do you need/want from us ??
There will be tea/coffee making facilities there.
Electricity on site, cw some cooking equipment ; Microwave, small oven and hob.

Thank you.
MACI has done quite a few 'urban' displays in the not too distant past.
I suppose that is why we and the BMFA and other ngb's have a B Cert scheme.
As a side note,on this very subject, the biggest club in Ireland is based smack bang in the center of Dublin city.
Having said that a great many clubs all around the world are in cities and towns.
I competed in a WC'S ,F3A and Pylon in a city ,in a recreational park, where the only access was through housing estates.There were houses,shops etc all around us. We were flying directly over lots of houses. Again in Austria ,2010 EC's, we were flying directly above a lot of houses. The practice sites were not nearly as bad as the comp site.
I suppose when you think about this sort of stuff it can get a bit scarey but then most passenger handling airports are 'urban' too.
Just look where the Red Bull Air Races are held and at what they are making them do - all just to promote a soft drink that is probably bad for people.
It would make one wonder.

If we can get 3,4 or 5 good pilots and a nice selection of models we will be happy. As Keith has said this is an urban setting.
The field is big ,10 to 12 acres, however a lot of the flying will be over houses roads etc. I have seen ,otherwise competent , pilots under pressure in better situations.
Fred ; email me a copy of your French license, as I think I can sort that for you. I would be great to have you there and a few more if we can get them.
There is no A or B cert here for RC glider pilots - there is elsewhere. So I hope to get a sort off ' derogation ' for one or two appropriately experienced glider specialists if they do not have a B. This will be to fly gliders only.

What are the chances of you guys changing your fly-in on Mt L,, to the same week end.
The display is not until mid afternoon on Sunday 22Apr. We only need 3 o4 or your guys to get it going. Every one is welcome to attend.
This might make it easier for you guys to participate.

Believe me, I take no joy or delight in taking the animals, I do however, enjoy the fact in knowing that we have a freezer full of meat and know where are next meal is coming from. Deer hunting/stalking is very widespread and popular here.
Just about all of our mountain slopes have tree plantations on then.
The shooting rights to ALL of these, except for some small privately owned areas, are leased out annually to clubs and individuals.
So actually the hunters here own the right to be on the hills they stalk while many of us just turn up and toss off a model and hope it is ok.It generally is a 'common law' normally applies.
Here the deer are 'pests' with growing numbers so the hunters are behind the curve.
Fishing and hunting are big tourist attractions here, especially the fishing.

It is not about the height or the air at a height.
The best you can do is set it up so it is good at a 'speed' that is appropriate to a landing approach.

Hi Keith,
Well done.
However it seems that you need to work on the crow set up.
I would advise checking the aileron trim first ,with the crow fully deployed.
If your aileron trim is good with no crow and at the fully deployed stage it will be ok through the range.
Then get your crow to elevator mix set. Again at full crow.
It then wont be too far off through the range.
To do this I position the model above the LZ and to one side at 70 to 100 ft , with no speed, just flying , ie at a safe height'
This is really worth spending your next flight or two on as once set up the landing work-load is greatly reduced.
It is difficult to set a crow up to work well at different speeds ; very slow and very fast.
You don't need a fast model when landing so set it up for slow speed.
Then to land get the model in a similar position ,but this time behind the LZ by say 50 to 100 M. Again flying but not much speed and at a 'safe' height
Then use the crow to induce sink.
The trick is to get a balance between sink rate and forward speed.
When you get this sorted you will have a good landing 'method'.
Hope this makes sense - it's difficult to put in a brief way.
