« on: August 23, 2016, 10:47:16 AM »
ive been looking at flight box sites
they are made of 6 mm ply and aluminium corner peices
i was going to do 6mm base , front back and 3 mm sides
will also use as storage in garage
worked out will have to be 2.6 mtr long 60cm wide and 40cm thick
and will have sloping end and lid
all in the air at mo
i can just about get in car but touches front window and just about shut tailgate and its an estate

hi gents
just wondering if anyone has any tips  on how to get plane to slope in car safely
and then to slope
the 5 mtr ka8 just fits in car and would prefer roof box , but none are long enough , ive got a surfboard bag with wheels to get to flying spot ,
has anyone built a roof box , based on flight box design and have plans ???
cheers

the trolley worked fine , it was me who over imputted and pannicked , from behind it looked liked a dolphin rising and diving
we live and learn , repair is under-way

hi the only one i could find is " skycraft"
they only sell diatex not diacov , diatex you need glue to stick down
you can heat shrink , but the glue doesnt activate with heat
hope this helps
with the price and the glue and the dope , it works out about the same as solartex

hi fred
spoke to the uk supplier , and as you said a lot of work doping and two coats etc for the diatex
and he doesnt sell diacov , so think will do the solartex again
i know how it works and its always had good results for me

hi fred
yes fixable just need to maybe get another plan from you for front formers , or might be best just to build new fuse
great testament to design though , as i think any other plane would have been totalled
do you do just fuse kits ?
the wings are untouched , just wing joiner gone
cheers mick

tried to aerotow , and not enough experience on my side
pulled up to much , snapped the line at all most vertical at about 6 metres up
wings all good and rear of fuse
so will have to build new front end 😫😫😫😫😫

hi gents
at last have found a uk supplier of diacov
just a few qs before i get some
should i buy the 1000 as this seems to be the lightest , also how do you fix on , im aware it shrinks
also you need glue , will balsa-loc work
or should i buy the glue they use on full size ( seems a bit heavy to me )
any help is massively appreciated
cheers mick
