Hi David, I may be wrong but I would think the ply wing joiner should slot into a box section built into the wing. Did you neglect to sheet over the top and bottom of the intended box? Did you cut the dowels? They should be single pieces across the fuselage.
Hi all, A new one added to the stable. Quite a bit of sanding required with this kit, especially the ply. Upgraded the hinges and plastic links. This one's for the brother.
You can download and try out the system even without having a transmitter by downloading the eepe programme here. It has a sim which shows all channel outputs.
Hi Keith, Yes keith it can do all. Every switch and stick can be assigned to any function and speed of operation of servos can be altered so that on flicking a switch, retracts or flaps can be deployed slowly. Crow braking on the stick is easy to setup and is covered in the online manual. It takes time to get used to the system as its a different approach to normal type programming. John.
Hi all, I have flashed my turnigy 9x with the er9x firmware and all I can say is WOW! what a superb transformation. Anything is possible. Mind you it took a while to get familiar with the system. Programmes for models can be perfected on screen tested on a simulator and then downloaded into the transmitter. It supports telemetry, voice, everything I can think of. It's worthwhile spending the time to learn. It transforms a 100euro transmitter into a state of the art machine. Credit to the designer and even better letting us have it for free. John.
Hi Keith, Thats exactly what I did, the reasoning being that the quark airfoil shape has a lot of undercamber at the trailing edge which make it glide well but under power it's like having flaps down, which force the nose up. When the ailerons rise it makes the section a more symmetrical shape. Anyhows it works remarkably well.
Hi all, Model is now sorted and is a joy to fly. The elevator is so much better be the model gliding or under power. The aileron up mix with the throttle has cured the pitch up problem. This ones a keeper. Looking forward to flying it some more. John.
Hi Al, I put a few pieces of double sided tape on the spars, stuck a steel ruler on them and cut through the spars separately top and bottom with a knife. I then used a junior hacksaw blade to cut the ply ribs alligning the previous cuts and a knife for the balsa ones. John.
