Slope Soaring / Sunday at Lacken

Beautiful day at Lacken this Sunday. Wind was tad strong for what I brought along but Fergal & Pablo (hope I have that right) both got in some good flying. Fergal has the 2m Typhoon and Pablo has something he built himself which flys incredibly well.

Wind slackened about 6.30 and got in about an hour with the floaters.

Some photos of day at Lacken. Have some camera video footage which I might post when I figure out how to upload (Fred?).

Hi Lads,
Happy New Year to all. Hope to see you all on the slope soon. Have a project on the bench. Hopefully will be ready soon  . Need a fix as I haven't flown in a while. Anything happening over the new year?

Thanks Kieth,
Need a little advice on a good radio to replace my very ancient Futaba SkySport 6. Still works well but have had a few funny moments with it. Am looking at a new glider possibly a Hotliner also. Not happy to trust something expensive to old radio set. Any pointers.

Road trips / Sunday 21st June

Hi Lads,
Well keeping my fingers crossed worked   . Had to wait for cloud to clear and thought I had wasted my time but then sun came out and Charlie H and Dennis and his son turned up. Also a new chap came by (Andre, I think) who should join us on future outings. All were from my side of Dublin so the slope was dominated by northsiders this afternoon till Peter turned up to put in a showing for the southsiders..well done Peter.

Beautiful afternooon, ~8mph NW wind. Some thermals or updraft from dark clouds. Charlie & Dennis both had Stargazers and C brought along a new Discus also and amused us all with some nervous flying. Peter had a 2M he built which flew beautifully and looked great   . I had the 2M fling.

Sorry no pics, must sort out for future. See you all at Retroplane in 2 weeks
