Hi All,
Flew my spitfire at Killakee slope yesterday I was most surprised at how well it went considering it was not very windy, under force 3 . It doesn,t penetrate very well (guess due to thick wing section and big wing area) but soars really well. It needed loads of aileron throw to get it turning properly its also quite light at 1kg all up. Looks great zooming around and put a smile on a few onlookers faces. Delighted with it and managed 3 flights without any damage. Have to make a pilot.

Hi Fred,
I saw your ploof with full elevator movement, how does it fly (flips?). I really like this glider and am considering building one with a fully symmetrical wing, & full moving tailplane as yours. It wont fly inverted very well as standard  Have you still got yours, if so would buy from you (remake wings and have fun). I really like this glider fast & demanding.

Hi Erwan,
He claims it was the KA6e with laminar flow wings that showed this characteristic. Anyway the DG is still relatively in one piece so will try again with more bank when conditions permit.

Hi John,
Perhaps I'm making the turn too close to the deck (trying to plonk her down immediately after the turn). Maybe a higher approach would be better so allowing lots of down to be applied during the turn and then nudging her onto the deck. Lack of experience I guess.
Thanks John.

Hi all,
Having problems flying my DG1000. I keep tipstalling it on final downwind turn to land. My Dad suggests that my turn is too flat and to put in loads of bank. He says the full size ASK6 was notorious for this and many were crashed on finals. Do models behave the same? Hopefully will try again on Saturday. Had some great flying last weekend at killakee with my phase, strongest winds I've yet flown in 30 knots +gusty, was great to learn to fly backwards and so easy to land. Course I broke it eventually but got a good hours flying.

Hi Kieth,
Yea sure granda is turning in grave I'm sure he could have flown it anyways. Would be interested in Mt Leinster before it gets really cold. Managed to bring all my gliders home without major repairs. Ordered one of these from hobbyking to set up for sloping.

Hi all,
Spent a great afternoon flying at killakee slope this afternoon. Maidened my hobbyking canary. It flies really well very responsive for rudder and elevator only and handles the gusts well. On the first launch I crashed to the right while applying full left rudder, you guessed control reversed. How could I not have noticed after hours of messing about with it on the bench. Anyway no damage and easily sorted.
Why is google chrome warning me not to visit this site displaying the message that it may harm my computer, is there a problem?

Hi,
Got this from Hobby King. I'm hoping my 7 & 8 year old son & daughter might be interested in flying it (get them off those game machines). Love to see spreadsheet Fergal.

Hi all,
Another china glider, a simple 2 channel control 1200mm span, weight with ballast 340grms. It came without instructions so wondering where to setup CG. At present I have added noseweight to put it 1/4" forward of wingspar at root. Hoping it will be a nice relaxing model for those nice balmy days.

Hi Keith,
Yea bit of muscle reqd, cruises nice at 60mph. Used to have a 650 boxer twin but totally underpowered and unreliable have had her up to 80mph steady as a rock. Suspension is perfect but braking was a problem. Not anymore as disc fitted at front.
Perhaps I'll give the roadtrip a miss this weekend and as for browneys the time I'm spending at home due to amount of work i'm doing these days, I could disappear for a week. Anyways maybe do it when winds are more favourable. By the way landing area + me= crash zone.
John.
