Hi Seb :),
Welcome to the Emerald Isle., so called because it's very green. (It's the rain that keeps everything so green.)

To answer your questions

1/ Yes we fly during the winter, but not during the rain. (Did I mention that it rains here? :()
2/ If your model is over 1Kg it has to be registered with the IAA and (to be legal) you will also need to have insurance. :-\
3/ There are various locations around Dublin to fly slope soarers, the best person to advise you might be our member called friendly Fred.
He's a Frenchman, (well,...nobody's perfect!) so we don't hold that against him. Fred lives in Dublin and will no doubt reply to your post when he sees it.

I live in Wexford and fly at a place called Mt. Lienster, commonly known as "Big L". Hope to see you down this way some time. :D

Good Luck Seb,
Little Keith

By the look of it Colm doesn't need any help from his Dad, he's doing a mighty fine job as it is. Well done Colm!

Yeah, last Sunday would have been a good time to have tried it. You could always come down to Big L tomorrow, Allan. (40 mph. westerly winds forecast Ha!!)

Deutsches Segelflugmuseum.........good bedtime reading by the way ;)

A very enjoyable day spent on the west slope. Overcast with gentle breezes at first followed by sunny, although lighter conditions, later. Polyhedrals' became very popular in the afternoon hunting for those elusive thermals and the little slope lift that could be found.
The warm sunshine helped to top up our fading sun tans as October approaches coupled with some lively banter and discussion which always accompanies such meetings the hours tripped by quite quickly.

Nice to meet up again Lads, looking forward to the next one! ;)

So did anyone get any flying in those rather "Gusty" winds of yesterday?

At the moment Big L looks rather cloud covered from my place. Anyone going up there this morning?

Is the road up to nine stones open David? I tried to get up there yesterday and the road was closed due to re-surfacing! :(

Yes I remember them Bill. Unfortunately mine went slightly yellow and frayed at the edges. :( (Bit like me. ::))

Minus 200 milliBar! :o I'd say that was a fairly power vacuum Bill. How long do you leave the wings under that level?

Time to retire those heavy low compression engines for something lighter and far more efficient :)

Phew! there's a lot of pictures in that link Fred.
It would be helpful if you could also post a caption with each picture saying where & when it was taken, what conditions were like, what the model is and who the pilot was. Please?

No, don't start swearing at me in French again,....the Keithy was only joking ;D

Very good Alan. Just been looking at the spec,.......less than 4oz/sq.ft wing loading......pretty impressive! and a three piece wing for easy transport.

Good choice :)

Incidentally, what's the toilet roll for on the bench? In case you suddenly need to use the loo having discovered you've glued the wings together the wrong way round? ;D
