Richard, is nothing sacred in this world.  I emailed John to ask if he could get some for Mandy.
I have no idea who 02 is that you referred to!

The plonk in question isn’t obtainable here in the south. It’s a sweet Red from Greece (I don’t like sweet wines) called “Mavrodaphne of Patras” As far as she knows it’s only sold in Asda and Waitrose. I don’t think there are any Waitrose’s in Ulster, are there?

We brought 37 bottles when we came up North in the Spring. I think she still has about 20 bottles left but we don’t intend to go North again until next Summer. So it’s a question of stocking up!!!

This stuff doesn’t go off,  so if any of you guys who are coming south at the weekend could grab a couple of bottles I’ll settle up with you on Saturday.
(I don’t have any STG cash, but I have a London bank account, or I’ll reimburse you through PayPal.)

Thanks

Keith

Thanks Andy.

Don’t put yourselves out over this guys. I often joke with  her that the red stuff in her veins isn’t blood, but Mavrodaphne of Patras

Glad you got your Le Fish flying Richard, I’m looking forward to seeing it in the Wexford air this weekend. :D
I’m seeing very conflicting reports about wind speed for the two days. :!:  The south slope of Big L. does not produce the greatest lift,(compared to the other slopes,) and should the wind be much less than around 20k it will be a definite ‘Floaters’ only job. (Or models with big wingspans.)
Unless your name’s Fred of course. He can fly a plane with no more lift than a rabbits fart!
Might be a case of bringing everything and seeing what flys best on the day. :?:

As for the ‘Plonk.’ Normally if the label has changed that signifies that something else has changed. It could simply be that the producer is using a different company to bottle the wine, or that the grapes are being pressed in a different machine. As long as the full name on the label is the same I should think one case would get her through.  (She’s a bit like a vampire really. If she can’t get her fill, she starts going a little crazy.......... Although I suppose that description applies to most of the females of the species, doesn’t it! )
So,…..one case please Andrew!

Yes Ralph.

The slopes have been cloud covered each morning this week. The weather is never the same on any two days, but generally the mountain hasn’t been clear much before 10 o/c

Well I hope your right there Richard. :D

I’ve just taken a look at the Big L, through rather bleary eyes I must admit, and dispite having a “second look” unfortunately the mountain isn’t there any more!!!
Well,.... at least if it is there I can’t see it.
As it has been for most mornings this week, it’s completely cloud covered.  I’m sure it will appear later on today……………just a matter of when!

The wind speed is currently8 kph SSW with very slight drizzle

Temp is 11 C

But fear not dear friends, I’m sure things will improve………“I have a feeling in my bones” Just don’t rush to get to the slopes, it may take a couple of hours for the cloud to lift.

I’ll post another report in an hour.

Keith.

Oh, by the way, I heard from Joe.  He sends his greetings and felicitations  but regrets that as he is out of the country, he can't make it today. He promises to come and annoy us at the next glide-in!
