Hi Fred,
Is all going well with this.
I tried to contact Joe at the weekend but he was away.
We had our club (Model County Flying Club) AGM on Tues,, night. We were wondering might you need any help with Retro,,. Also might you want to use our field during the week, perhaps if there was no wind or rain/cloud on the slope. We could arrange a tug. There is a BBQ ,tea and coffee there etc.
Anyway we are here and we have our next meeting in March,so if you want/need anything from us do not hesitate to ask.
Also are you going to arrange insurance cover for the visiting pilots. When we ran the F3A FAI World Championships in 2001 we gave all the visitors temporary MACI membership. Kevin or Ralph ,I'm sure, can arange this with Finbar C.

Would you have plans/kit for a FS3 Besenstiel ?
I might do one if time allows.

Hey Brian,

Thanks for the offer. Talked to Joe about that a little while ago. Will be nice to meet at the slope and have a chat (hopefully soon, if the weather co-operate !!  :!:  :!: )
For the insurance cover, we'll talk about that, and I'll keep in touch with the Cork guys. Not sure when is the next Cork Glide-in, might be the occasion to meet everyone  :D

For the FS3, Vincent is your man ! (Vincennnnttttt !!!  :D )
Will be nice for you to have a vintage glider to participate ! (need to build quick, Retroplane is getting close !!)

Hi Brian, sorry but the FS3 is not drawn in cad, so there is no dxf files/short-kit (but only the ribs to cut...) you can order the paper's plan on this page http://www.retroplane.net/besenstiel/besenstiel.htm

Hi Fred,Vincent,
Thanks guys I will look at that.
Does the Bes,, qualify for retro ??.
Yes Fred we should meet to chat as our field is exactly in the middle between 'basecamp' and the slope at Leinster.
To run these things takes effort ,not talk, and many hands makes light the work.If you do need 'local' help you and Joe are welcome to come to a club meeting and of course we must get up to the slope soon as possible.

Hey Brian,

Of course, the FS3 qualify for Retroplane if you do the basics (fabric type covering (solartex or equiv.) and a pilot).  No need to be "colour scale", as long as you are happy with your colour scheme, we are happy ! (ok, maybe not all pink with big flowers, which might be more a Joe thing anyway...   )

As for the organisation, left to do is the administration stuff, everything else is pretty much done  :D
But I'll have a proper chat with you anyway, as I have a few questions, and you will certainly know the answers !  :?:
Week end weather don't look good at all... Hopefully next one ! Or if you are around Dublin one day/evening...

Hi Fred,
Thank you for that.
Yes the weather is bad.If we do not get to fly in the next two weeks or so we can just get to gether to chat. Maybe if Joe gets home ?.
We have some good guys in the club, with event experiance, and we all live just 20km from MtLeinster.
Look forward to a chat so.

If I can help  :D

Brian, you need to use the Paypal option (on top of the page, FS3 is 20 euros)

Cheques are for France only (certainly because of the various fees when taking a cheque from another country.. Even an European one !   )

Let me know if you need anything else !  :D

Hi,
Thanks Vincent.
What have I done
I just hope I have the time, if not no harm, as this was the simplest option that I could find.
Are there other simple/quick/easy build options for retro ??.

You can build the Flying Plank Backstrom, but the FS3 is even easier
