Hi Guys,

David > Sorry, not sure I used the good words here.. By free flight, I mean, well, do what you want !  :P  :D

So far, no interrest shown in any of the categories, so, I guess that will be "free flight" all over the week end...

Ralph > So far, I just have the long forecast for a 47km radius around the coats line.. And so far, it's all looking good !
30 km/h wind, coming from the NE, the best as we can launch from the car park !  :D

But we'll see, as another forecast show big sun, but relatively no wind...

Bring whatever you have, as we can fly any wind directions and any size of models !
Bring some electrics too, just in case..

I'll do another forecast later this week.. I'll try, as I have all the guest from France coming tomorrow and friday ! Going to be busy !  :D

Weather does not look to bad for the weekend. May be some showers, but where there is showers there is thermals. Not sure about the wind though. Should I bring my bungee Fred. Not sure what day I will be there, probably Saterday.

Sorry guys, I'm not going to be able to make it this weekend. I had hoped to come down for the weekend from Belfast, but ex-wife has changed dates of access visits and I have my daughters.

Will try and get down in Sept if you have another event then.

Hi Guys,
Sorry, late answer to everything ! Bit busy !  :D

Bill, no worries ! We will see you in our next one in September, and why not, in NI before that !

Chris, that was nice to see you yesterday !  :D  Shame about the weather, not even one flight !    Next time !!

Alright, so, for the week end... Weather is looking really good !
NE wind too, the best and easiest !
Forecast says light wind (10 kph), but that might be stronger up the mountain ! The dynamic on the NE slope is really good, so, even with light wind, that will work !
Bring a floater, just in case, and electric planes/gliders, if we have to wait for the wind to pick up a little !
Sunday looks like the best day, but really sure... :?:  Both days have the same forecast...
On another forecast, I have a 20kph wind, same direction... Fingers crossed they are right ! Bring the heavy stuff in this case !   :D

Alright so, I'm off again ! I have 8 French slope tourists coming this morning ! Going to the slope straight away in Dublin  :D

I'll be at the 9 stones car park tomorrow morning at 9am ! :D

See you all tomorrow guys !

Hi everybody,

Thanks a million for all you guys coming this week end ! Cork, Kerry, Dublin were well represented !

How to resume this week end ??... Was thinking of 3 words like "Oh my God !" and another one like "Woww !!"  :D
The first forcast was the good one ! Light wind coming from the NE, small showers for saturday morning (all in all, 3 minutes of rain...) but really good dynamic until 12pm.
After that ? Well, wind from the valley, and some of the most powerfull thermals ever seen in Ireland !
Well, when some crazy guys launch a 4kg Alpina, the wind coming from the back, and the thing is satellised in less than a minute, that's a sign that the conditions are going to be good !
On sunday, the Hifly, even in a spin was going up !

We've counted up to 8 gliders in the air at the same time on saturday afternoon and sunday !
A few "landings" down the hill, but that is part of the thermal hunt !
Even the P51 Pss took some thermals ! (until the aerial got stuck to the aluminium fuselage after some aerobatics, and lost control... Thanks EPP !  :D )

So many things to say ! I'll take more time later !
Now, some photos ! Have hundred more to put ! And video coming soon !

Enjoy !

We were able to fly on both side of the mountain at the same time.. Where ever you launch, strong thermals were here !

Sunday was.. legendary !  :D

For the slope, we will organize Retroplane on it... That speak for itself !
Erwan, Ronan and Benoit said they can fly full size on it without any problems... We are lucky to have this slope !  :D

OMG.  I am sick that I missed the whole weekend :(  :(  :(

I have a confession... that I fly helicopters too.  I was the contest director for the first round of the Heli Challenge Trophy competitioin that was scheduled for 26th April.  The competition was postponed twice and eventually ran on Saturday 10th.  There was no way I was being allowed to shirk off my family duties on Sunday after three consecutive saturday/heli days.

I guess I will just have to meet you all at one of the other events :?:

Great picrures (happy faces everywhere), I am sorry I missed it now :(

Fred, Great that you had perfect weather for the weekend, I would of loved to have been there flying too.

I was up to my eyes changing nappies/feeding our new babies. There was no chance I could sneak off for a few hours.
