Fouga Magister PSS - Build up wings
« on: April 27, 2015, 13:38:13 PM »
Thanks to John, I have inherited a fuselage for the Fouga, along a canopy, plastic moulding :)

Plan was to try to design and build a "built up" version to see how it goes.
Well, the build goes well for sure, and require a minimum amount of work for the wings.

Just some classic easy build, nothing fancy.
And after 3 hours of work, My wings are done, ready for servos and covering :)

Tonight, plan is to get the V tail done. Should not take long (I'd say less than an hour :) ) and we are ready for the servos :)

Stay tuned for more!

I'll do a more complete page as usual when all finished of course, with more photos of the build.

Thanks Mick :)

Alright, more progress!
I am now at the covering stage. Servos are in the wing.

Before covering:

Left to do:
Canopy
Servos for the V tail

And "destroy" all this hard work with a bad paint job! :)

Anyway, very pleased with the result achieved so far with relatively very little work.

Should start the painting this week end. Well, that's the plan anyway!

Alright, quick update!
Wings were covered in Diacov, then, I miserably failed to paint them in aluminium... Could not get the effect I wanted!
So, I did what I did on the Blanik, and covered the wings over with aluminium PE tape.
Very please with the effect. It is shinny! Hard to render it in photos, but this does look good I think. And when the various panel lines etc will be added, should look not too bad :)

Alright, finally got a decent day to do some painting outside.
I usually suck at painting, but this time, I am very pleased with the results :)

In the excitement, I did a bit of finishing on the fuselage, and it doesn't look half bad. Quick job, but happy!
Tomorrow, I'll get cracking on the canopy. Very little left to do now.
A bit of orange, Serial numbers, a few bits there and there and a clear coat to finish it of :)
