I want to learn to fly model gliders
« on: June 29, 2023, 11:32:17 AM »
Good evening. I want to learn to fly model gliders. I am in South Dublin. Easy access to the slope past Killakee. I have 2 gliders, never really flown.. is there a club locally?

Hi,

I fly from slope past Killakee on Saturday afternoons but not recently as the wind has not been westerly for ages. I cannot get to the slope for the next couple of weekends but hope to be back there from mid July if you want to call by. What sort of gliders do you have?

Peter

Welcome to the forum!!

Same as Peter, there is a bunch of us flying in Kilakee. Unfortunately, the wind God has not be kind to us so far this year, but if conditions are there, we are usually up there on Saturdays, but with the long days now, we can also meet during the evenings etc etc.

We are part of the Island Slope Rebels (ISR for short), and of course, new members are more than welcome to join us :)
Calm day, we can also fly electrics, but of course, if you need anything or meet up there (or at the pub!) don't hesitate to keep in touch  :)
Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!
