MACI National Event

<< < (3/17) > >>

Fred:
  Ooops, sorry Ralph, I was thinking we were talking of a National (Contest for me).
So, if it's a Funfly (or kind of), you can do whatever categories you want, I'll try to participate to all of them !  :D  Going to be a busy day !
And I stick to the Limerick location as a central one.

Alan_Perse:
We still could have a kind of a competition, such as best scale model voted by the people that are there etc.

rogallo:
Well, I need to make some sort of proposal to the MACI.

I need a show of hands here adn then I must phone everyone else and make a decision. Remeber if you want competition you must be able to provide for the competition, ie names for judges, a venue for a judging course, a qualified Contest Director (helping to run a WC does not count!).

I still don't know if you want a funfly event (easier to organise and no-one gets killed) or formal competitons (1 and a half in favour)

3 basic comps would be (in order of requirements)

epp combat, pilot/judges event, no special training for officals.

Scale, requires judges, requires training of some degree

Racing, requires, time keepers, and a course to be set up.

Funfly event, all feel welcome, no pressure on anyone to do anything but fly and have fun!

Gentlemen

The choice is yours!

Fred:
Well... You can also feel welcome in competitions, having fun and so on.. :D

Anyway, if there is a fun fly, I will participate.

rogallo:
Fred, I know people feel welcome at competitions, but more people will travel to a less formal event, this has been my experience here.
I will help with a competition but do not want all the responsibilities of running it as has happened in the past.
