DG 1000
Fred:
Well, the wings doesn't matter really in this case.
There are 2 versions of the HF DG1000, the normal (vener wings) and the "luxe" (molded). Other than that, everything else is the exact same on both versions.
The new DG elevator use a ball link when the old one (the one I have) use a 90 degrees bent piano wire.
IMHO, the 90 degree wire is more safe than the ball link. Did that on the asw22, but now, I have regrets :!: The ball link can pop off very easily at high rates, exept if you bend the wire, but you have to enlarge the hole on top of the rudder, and it's not in line anymore...
Sorry, difficult to explain, but when you see it working, that's clear there can be a problem.
scamper:
I'm worried about the link popping off the ball too. I think I'll get a screwed horn like this one: www.topmodel.fr/product_detail.php?id=6819
Or maybe one of these: http://alshobbies.com/shop/lookupstock.php?pc=8166&Desc=
Did you use the supplied pushrod for the rudder?
Fred:
Yeah, I will use the Topmodel thing + 90 bended wire.
At the time I've used the pushrod for the rudder...But that was a bit light for the rudder. But I left it that way, because the rudder, like on all FG ships, is a bit small to notice it.
If I had to do it again, I will use the Push/Pull option.
scamper:
Only problem now is topmodel dont reopen until monday :x
I think the one here is the same but a bit longer: www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=22874
It has the same part number on the MP Jet website: www.mpjet.com/market/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=312
Fred:
Yeah, that's the same thing.
if you are stuck, I have a couple of those in my workshop !
if you are around this week end... :D
