ASW28 Refurb
billscottni:
Bit of primer sprayed on the 1/3 scale ASW28 fuselage today. It's shown a few imperfections, so will get a rub down and resprayed
Kevin O'Donoghue:
Starting into something similar myself Bill with an old 2.5m Mibo Swift. Pot of car body filler just delivered to smoothen an old repair.
billscottni:
it's a long road Kevin, filer - sand- filler- sand - paint - rub down - filler - sand - paint!
Kevin O'Donoghue:
I only have one old repair to improve on before a full respray so it shouldn’t be too bad. Bought a few acrylic appliance white rattle cans and a lacquer to finish it off. Mine has just faded with age and is dirty so a clean, small bit of body work and spray and I should be fine. I don’t have the patience for perfection....!!!!!
billscottni:
Lol, neither do I, next primer paint coat will be it! Then a top coat of Ford Arctic White.
Mine had a fair bit more to repair, (JP did a lot of it). It had both an Up n' Go & a retract, both removed and filled in. Boom had been snapped about 8" in front of fin, so that had to be sleeved. Will be ready for start of 2021 season if Covid allows
