I am tempted to come - even though the wind direction is non-ideal.  Are we going to meet at Mount Leinster?

I've just heard from Fred, he recons he'll be at Mt. Lienster for 9am.  (I'll belive it when I see it!)

I think the wind might be a little bit unforecastable this weekend. I was at my local south-east slope today but the wind was east! contrary to all forecasts

I guess before all this internet info and forums we would just show up and deal with whatever weather we got!

I'll be at nine stones in the morning around 10:30 with fingers crossed  :D

OK - I'll aim for 10-10.30 at the Nine Stones - give the thermals a chance to bubble up!!  See you there.

Well, that was a very interesting day :D  Always nice to meet up with like minded people, even if they do arrive late. :(   But we wont hark on about that :!:

The wind blew (for some of the time), and we all did "The Funky Thermal"

My little camera couldn't handle all that sun light when in movie mode. So I only have snaps shots of the day.

Talking of thermals, they certainly lift the models, like they were on an escalator!

This is Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee

Fortunatly the wind went round to the south for some of the day, other times it went very slack :(

This is Layback Pete (Cool Dude) enjoying the rays

Ralph was very Rude, (Rude Ralph we'll call him from now on.) Fancy sticking his tounge out at me! I don't know where it's been

When the wind dropped Fred resulted to desperate measures. On his knees to plead with the model to fly

Likeable Les enjoyed the sunshine and the flying. Said he found flying his "Gental Lady" a bit demanding when the wind got up though.

Some of the spectators who wandered over for a look-see found it all much too exciting..........and fell asleep

Brian, a man who enjoys 'serious power,' was in a particularly serous mood when flying his 4 Mtr plane. Just look at the expresion on his face

So all in all a better day than I'd expected. Lets hope for more times like it. :D

Keith

Good evening everyone  :D

Well, what a day!!  :D  One of the best sloping day I had for a very long time! Love the "thermo-Dynamic" conditions like that!
Thanks to Ralph and Les for coming from Cork    Always good to see you guys!

So, here a few photos (of all the gliders at the slope...) and that's pretty much it! I have a 3 minutes video... Spent lot of time flying!
Recorded almost 5hrs on the radios! (spent 8 hours on the slope..)

Now, photos!

Arrived at 10am    and went up at 10h30, two 4mtrs on my back, and a 2m in my hand...Ready to rock and roll!  :D

Horses on the NE slope...

Keith with a big smile.... Mean good wind!  :P

Peter

Alpina and asw22...

That was the view alll day! Blue sky all around!

Ralph and Les

Brian's Alpina

Romantic moment... Beautifull.. :P

More and more machines!

And now, all of them...

Another view of the slope and the pilots ( 8 Pilots for the day)

Brian's Alpina during a low pass... We had a bit of a low pass moment all of us at some point! Definitive winner for the nice scream, is Ralph and the Dragon! Sound like a jet!!  :D

Joe, during a DS attempt... Had a good laugh  :P  :P

And to finish with the flying session.. A last look at the horses  :P

Again again again again!!

Thanks for sharing the photos lads.

More days like that please!
