Saturday 8th Aug
Happy Days:
The winds look set to be fairly gentle and from the west this coming Saturday. :)
The west slope of Big L. is begging to have some planes flown off of it. :D
It'd be a good chance for Peter to maiden his brand new masterpiece.
So,...........is anyone going to join me on the 8th? Or will I be flying on my own. (Again) :!:
Keith
Fred:
Hi Keith,
Count me in ! :D
By the way, what do you mean by "gentle wind" :?: I know you ! Might be something between 40 and 50 km/h  :P
Happy Days:
Ha!
Well, actually Fred, since I posted that message the winds are forecast to drop and be coming from the South. At the moment the prediction is for speeds of around 10Km/h. Of course up on the ridge they are likely to be a little bit stronger than that but I should think most pilots would consider those winds to be "gentle", wouldn't you agree?
The only thing I've got that will fly in those breezes is your old Flat Vee Tailed thingy, (Which has clocked up a surprising numbers of hours in the air over the past 6months)
I might take the newly repaired Filip as well. With my new Tx I can increase the wing camber so I might be able to keep it in the air, in the predicted "Light" conditions :D
I'm just on my way up to Big L. now..............to get some practice in! :D
See you Saturday,..........anyone else interested in catching a few 'rays' whilst improving their flying skills????

Happy Days:
Well, here we are at 07.00 hrs:
At my home location the weather is dry but with a low cloud base. Wind is SW at around 15 - 20 Km/h.
Mount Lienster has a thick cloud cover, but this is not unusual at this time of day. If the general cloud cover breaks up the sun will burn the cloud off of Mt.L. :D
I'll give another update in around an hours time.
Keith
Happy Days:
Wind strength and direction remain the same. Dry with no sign of future precipitation
Sky cloud cover has some very small breaks in it allowing moments of sunshine.
The mountain, however, remains totaly cloud covered. (I can't see it at all) :(
Fred, I wouldn't bother aiming to be there for 10.00 if I were you. My guess is probably 12.00 would be a safer bet
