Hey Keith,

As far as I remember, the only difficult direction to fly was South East, because you have Mt L right in front of you...
Or you have to walk a long way down the "bowl".

We flew East last May when the Frenchies were here without issues, but that was more thermal than dynamic, so not sure of the slope effect there for East.  :?:
I remember when checked with my compas that East was no biggie but that is old memories !  :?  8-[

Ah well, we'll see tomorrow, the most important, is to fly !  :D
Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!

Poor Joe’s without internet connection er?  Well, you will live in the back-of-beyond Joe. (I’m surprised you’ve got electricity out there.)

Meanwhile,………here in the civilized part of Co. Wexford………………….. :D

The sky is clear, as the sun is beginning to shine. (Very clear view of a half moon at the zenith.) :)
With just a little haze on the horizon the weather is much the same as it’s been at this time of day for the past few days.

Wind is aprox 5km/h from the east. Mt L. is clear of cloud,….well,….just a very small “crown” of haze obscuring the radio mast.

Temperature = 6degrees centigrade.

I wont bother posting any more reports this morning, it’s all looking set to be another fine day, though maybe a little short in the wind department. :(

I hope to be at Big L. from around 2pm. See yer’s then. :D

More nice photos Dave,  (you like silhouettes don’t you).

It was very enjoyable to fly with you and Ger, and the others. Normally I only have the birds for company on Big L.

Although a little short of lift, the day was pleasant just to meet old friends and chat about mutual points of interest, …like buns! :)  Thank you for your very generous donation by the way. ( They tasted surprisingly good too!)

The next time we meet hopefully there’ll be rather more lift and I’ll be able to give you a ‘darned good thrashing’ at combat.  (Well,…..I can dream can’t I?)

This morning here in Co. Wexford we have blue skies and Dead Calm! WOE is ME. :!:
(I think I might nip out into the garden and make some sacrifices to the gods and ask them to whip up a quick gale or two)

Hope to see you again before too long guys, thanks for coming up ……………Happy Landings.

Well after a 400 mile round trip, (that's 620km Joe) and 7 hours of driving, I got home at 8.45pm last night. Knackered but having had a great weekend! Thanks to everyone for making myself and John very welcome.

The way the weather worked over the weekend was great for me (sorry Keith!) It allowed me to get my thumbs back in action in gentle winds on the Sat and then fly faster more responsive stuff on the Sunday. My Pelicano was maidend and seems to fly nicely, just need a "touch" extra nose weight and I got to fly the Rico-she again which probably needs a little nose weight removed!

So thanks again and here's a couple of pics :

Well what a marvelous weekend. I still have the red sunburned face to prove it. Big thanks to all for turning out and for traveling to joining us. Great to have so many pilots and models on the slope. I know the lift was very light but I think most got a few flights in especially in the evening when the wind got up a little. Hard to complain about the light winds too much when you are lying on the slope in a t-shirt. :D We will have plenty of wind and cold in the coming months.

Thanks for posting the photos and movies. Some great shots there and all in beautiful clear skies for a change.

A little more lift on Sunday evening Dave but we had a hang-glider flying straight through our air for 'bout and hour. He finally headed off but then so did the lift. Bit of a pain! :!:  :!:

Hello all,

A big thank you to all of you for coming !   All in all, I think we where 21 pilots over the 2 days, and maybe 3 times the number of models !
Thanks to Bill and John from coming from NI, so as Les, Dave and Ger, long trip for one day... That's dedication !
Not a lot of wind, but plenty of thermals for everybody, and as Joe said, that's a nice change for once to fly at the slope lying on the grass in a T-Shirt !!
What a great week end we had!  :D
Floaters, electrics, PSS, scale, fast, slow etc etc, we pretty much had everything!
As for me, very happy, 2 maiden flights went very well ! DG1000, the good old friend is back in the sky, and the asw15, certainly one of the best flyer I ever had (maiden went like in a magazine... :P )

Here are some photos, I hope I have everyone !
Video of the week end to follow right after that !  :D

Yeah, we even had a Mr Whippy van ! What more can you ask for ! Beautifull day, lots of like minded people, and an Ice Cream van !  :D

Dave, we need to make the Buns hand over more official, with flags and music ! (and cheerleaders...) !!  :D
