Sloping from the bottom up !!!!
« on: May 04, 2010, 09:37:26 AM »
May Day Bank holiday Monday myself and JP (John Pearson) headed up North to meet Andrew Wallace for some upside down sloping.
We flew from the beach at the foot of Bishops Gate cliffs.
A really fun day was had and new skills acquired.
Early winds were 10mph and around 4pm they increased to 17mph.
I would safely say this area offers some of the best gliding sites in Northern Ireland.
Best of all is the great company with Andrew, Clifford and Terry.
May the North winds blow all summer.
Thanks Andrew for the fantastic day.
Well done JP on your maidens !!!!!!!!!!

Hi Alan, not sure if its a kit or a scratch build. Some thing tells me it was built from plan but I am unsure.
It really is an impressive plane, he flew it in 10mph winds and performed some beautiful maneuvers.
Unfortunately Andrew can not make the May Mount Leinster fly-in but does intend to make the next meet in September.

WoW !! fantastic days flying. I have never flew off the beach before, we where only standing on a small sand bank beside the cliff, however the lift coming off the rock face was great. To get height we had to fly figure of eights close to the cliff face, then the lift takes over and the model goes up like an elevator.
Thanks for the pics Richard, great photos of a great day.
