Mine is 11kg and have something around or more than 1kg in the nose... Nothing abnormal for a 5 meter old glider.

Hello !
After looking on it this sunday, my Ka8 have 1.7kg of lead Inside the nose.

At the very same time and place we had in France the Dewoitine D-33, built for the same purpose of long distance records, with the same aerodynamic solutions...

Nan, mais ca monte trop fort derrière un bidule et si le bidule redescend vertical avec toujours le Lulu derrière, ça explose !

Il faut en faire un qui vole ! Il sera plus facile qu'un Wright Flyer avec son hélice unique...

You have to built a flyable one ! It may be more simple than a Wright Flyer with only one propeller...

If your field is "bumpy", it's another reason not to use a dolly... Your dolly bump on the field, the glider bump on the dolly, twice the effects !

Sorry to come here after the action, but I don't understand why you need a dolly for a Ka3 ? I don't understand the problem with the wing struts ?
Most of times this sort of old gliders take off very easy and quickly, few meters, with a guy maintaining the wing horizontal for take off...

I wish you courage for the repair...
