Excellent!

I hung around a while before going 2.4 in the hope they'd do this sooner but switched with a JETI converted Multiplex EVO earlier this year. Still it'll be good to see what they come up with. Hopefully they'll have sensible & flexible programming (something similar to Multiplex?) in which case I just might be interested next time around.

Well, we can always hope!

My fear, is that will end up being something like the Turnigy radio with a native Jeti module inside...
I don't know if Jeti is strong enough to launch its own radio production... Unless he have a deal with MPX or Graupner, but don't think so as they both have their new system!

Ah well, wait and see!

Stop being negative.

JETI are going to build their radios to order and provide a vast range of user interfaces (all 100% glitch free). They will also provide a myriad of tranmitter designs. These will be available in any number of materials, shapes and colours with your choice of gimbals, sticks, switches, displays, digital or mechanical trims. You will even be able to e-mail JETI photographs of your hands and a video of your hands while flying and they will build an ergonomically optimised configuration just for you.
You can choose NiMH cells or ask for lipo, solar or wind power.
Standard USB or WiFi connectivity can be used for programming, making back-ups and simulator flying via your PC or laptop.
Virtually no limit on number of model memories or flight phases.
The optional voice or telepathic activation for trims and switches allows you keep your hands on the sticks at those critical moments or you can hand over to the transmitter to fly your plane to safety using the built in telemetry, radar and vision systems.

It will cost approx €10
...maybe €12 if you go for the fancy options.

  Jeti is THAT good !  :P

No, but, Jeti is good, definitively an option, but the price of all the 2.4Ghz stuff is just ridiculous for a technology that is mainstream!
You can buy an xbee module for 15 euros!

Ralph, don't forget the FASST receivers for something like 20 euros!

Some people are making too much money surfing in this "new" technology thingy!

Fred - Happy with his FrSky telemetry system  :D

I'm with you Fred, I'm staying out of it until the mad rush for "new" dies down

I am using the HK rx "park flyer" at over 1000ft with my JR dsm Tx, of course it is overpriced but I am happy 3 year on with the system.
Each to their own.... I have always had a JR bias. 8)

The more competition that comes into the market place, the more the prices will fall.
Personally I suspect the materials cost of a 2.4 rx is measured in cents. After all, the technology has been around for decades. At the end of the day the value of anything is what ever price people will pay for it. So if we all stopped buying the gear theoretically the price should collapse!

I see that there is a Wfly 6 Channel 2.4Ghz Tx & Rx on sale now for £45.00 and additional Rx’s are just £13.00 each. :D

I’m almost tempted……….if only to break out of being “locked” into having to buy Futaba rx’s at £45 each!

Hey Keith,

Might have some good news for you on the receiver front !  :D
We might sell the FrSky stuff (very good communication with those guys! And they are even doing a module to fit the European style radios, like the 3030, MC18 etc at my request     ).. Anyway, good news is that they are doing Futaba Fasst compatible receivers for cheap. Have 9ch and they go up to 14ch RX. And so far, test are really good!

Doing a market study with them at the moment, I'll come back to you on prices etc if you (and others) are interrested in the Fasst stuff.  :D

Excellent news, :D  although I’m a little supprised. :o

I would have thought Futaba would have put some kind of coding in their transmitted signal to stop other’s trying to “muscle” in on their product range.
You say FrSky are going to make FASST receivers,………will their rx’s be able to bind with the coding from a Futaba Tx? If they can, then Futaba rx’s are heading for a nose dive in price

Hey Keith,

Yes, they are binding fine and so far, everything is working great.
You can find a long thread on RCGroups about this system  :D

What's the conversion like for the Multiplex 3030?
Does it allow you to switch between 2.4 & 35 easily?

Hi Bill,

Top secret so far  :P  Still working on it!
But that will be a module, so easy to swap.
Aternatively, there will be a DIY module that will fit, with telemetry!
A 3 way switch will allow you to swap between 35 and 2.4ghz...
But we'll see, I think they need another month of work to have a prototype done, so fingers crossed, but already, the DIY system is looking good  :D
I'm also waiting for photos of the "box", where the telemetry infos are displayed.

Looks like the top would scrathc VERY easily and also not sure about that speaker opening on the lower righthand side

Looks more like a flat screen TV than a TX!

Live photo (well, almost!)

Looks like a modern DX10.

The best innovation so far, is that the sticks uses hall sensors (nothing mechanical basically), I think this is a first...

Anyway, not really my taste, I can't really find it practical for slope use, but still need to know the price of that thing!

Looks... neat!

Good to see is one more alternative in the telemetry area, I can see in the catalogue several modules for different  models/brands of radios.
But it shouldn't be neither as cheap as open as FrSky. :)

That's not a small radio!

Rumour said price will be in the 700 euros range according to a German website...

about the same size as a 3030 or a 4000 by the looks of it.

One thing puzzles me? Where do you put the neckstrap? It's far too big & bulky to hold without some other means of support  :?:

Certainly with a tray, sound like the logical way for this type of radios

To me, looks wider than an MC  :?:
Look at the room between the sticks!

It looks a little wider and shorter. The Multiplex Profi MCs weren't far off being square. I think it's a lot lighter than the Profis MCs though.
If I remember correctly my mc3010 weighs about 1.6kg. The Jeti is advertised at 1.2kg. Seems reasonable for a tray style TX.

Well, this radio was the only one showed, with the software running in loop (can't test it), this is still a prototype, and that might be far from being the production model!

By the way, Jeti are open to suggestions for the radio, stuff like what you would like to see, functions etc etc (contact on the Jeti website).

Looks like I will keep my 2 MCs for another while!  :P
