By the way Fred you can get them uninflated, would save you a lot of space.

Hi Fergal,
It's probably due to the pics size that it won't post here. Download gimp (free photo editing) and resize your pics to max 800 x 800 pixels, save them and post.

Scale / Airco DH2

Hi all,
I finally got to test fly my model, just 2 short flights until I broke the undercarriage and I have now beefed it up a bit to handle John landings. It flew very well but needs slight right rudder trim to track straight  . The bigger motor is just the job (thanks Keith, maybe a bit overpowered), it gets airborne on half throttle in two feet, I am using an 850mah 2s lipo as it balanced just right with this fitted. I also added some scale features (the wing mounted oil tank), finished the rigging and dirtied it up a bit. Cant wait to fly it again. Sorry no flying vid (too busy trying to fly). My freewheeling engine works a treat.

Oh by the way notice the tree on the approach to the runway, many are quite nervous of it. Apparently just skim the treetop and your approach is perfect.

Yes Keith that was on friday they were over that way. They must have got lost Andrew following the motorway back to Kilrush (I joke of course they are some of the best pilots in the country, 60 years at it) They have been flying that aircraft since new in 1974. It,s powered by a volkswagon engine and has got to be the most economical powered flying machine in the country. It soars engine off, prop feathered quite reasonably. A classic machine with great character, I love it.

Slope Soaring / Battery flight time
« on: March 08, 2012, 22:05:34 PM »
Hi Keith,
Thanks for advice, I will check the voltage as you suggest at 10 min intervals. There is no mention of an LVC on the ubec. By the way I got the motor & esc for my airco and studied up on lipo power, I think I now have a better idea as to whats going on. Busy with work so its on the long finger.
