Title: Looking at a new TD / F3J glider...
Post by: Fred on November 21, 2011, 08:57:23 AM
Time to draw something for next year!
I don't really have a F3J style glider in my fleet (Ok, maybe the ASW15!  :P  :P ) and like the Quarks, I wanted to design something like that for a long time!

For the guys up north, the 100s competitions is only opened to gliders of 2.5m WS or more (another category  :?: )
Was thinking of something more in the 3~3.5m range  :?:

I'll post a 3views later.

We also fly Open class up here, which is any span and any control surfaces

Good stuff, thanks Bill  :D
I am only at the initial though, but have a rough idea already of what I want  :D

Here is a rough 2 views :

Wingspan : not known yet, but I guess 3.6m but I have to see the plan first! I print, if that looks correct, I go for it!  :D
Profile : not known... I might do my own, but only one sure thing, is that I will use stock ailerons... Unless I can't find what I need / want  :?:
Flaps, ailerons, and cross tail (after much thinking, this is the way to go!)

looks good Fred. Curvy tips might be a little difficult to produce unless your planning on making a moulded wing?

Thanks Bill,

All wood. For the wing tips, we'll see, it's more like a concept right now
But everything can be done  :D
