So, here is my next project. This one took the prority from the AVIA 32e.. I need more time to build an eaxct replica of this one.
The Ka3 is much more simple ! Ok, may be not...
So thanks to Alan with the 3views, here is the fuselage... Work still in progress... The plan will be almost ready next week..

Hi Fred. Looks good. How did you get the shape of the formers?
-
Hi!
Is there any chance to get 3views of that plane?
I was looking all over web, but only found some simple views with no fuselage sections.
I'm thinking about 1:3 scale model. I had designed few hundred models so far with no problem, but it is hard to do when there is too little data of specific plane like Ka-3. This will be my first scale project, so I want to do it as good as possible.
Here is my bould log of my last project K-3 Retro Cruiser: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1020606

Hi Kristjan,
Sorry, late reply !
I have it, the one from Martin Simons book, the one I used to make my 1/4 and 1/3 scale Ka1/Ka3.
Let me find it, or I will scan it for you if I don't !
I guess you already had a look at my 1/3 scale version here : http://www.gliderireland.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=277 :D

Hi!
Nice Fred!
I would be very grateful!
Yes I have seen your models here on this forum and RC Groups forum too. Nice work!
At first I was thinking to buy short kit, but after some thinking I decided to draw my own plans for this model.
Best regards,
Kristjan

Alright, totally went out of my mind ! Untill yesterday that it !
I have scanned the page, I'll do the link in a bit.
But just remembered, that on the M. Simons book, only the formers for the Ka1 are shown !
On top of my head, if I remember well, if you do a search on the Retroplane website, there is a dxf file with the Ka3 formers, made by Julio Correira.
Not too sure, but I'll have a look !

Thanks for info!
I found a lot of useful stuff there.
-
Thanks again!
I found a lot of stuff on Retroplane forum. Formers also and some details from original plane. I'll start with wings. With Compufoil 3D it will bu fun.
Wing ribs will be made from 3mm ply like those on picture:

You're welcome ! :D
Yeah, opened ribs (like the one on the photo, from Vincent's MG9 ) are really cool I think, even if totally useless at the end, as you have to hide everything unfortunately :(
But at least, you know they are there ! :D
-
I know :?
But with AUTOCad and laser cutter it will be fun to make set of ribs for this nice plane. I am a fan of V tailed planes and also retro/vintage planes.
That MG9a is piece of art!

This is all I have done so far....
Still deciding which airfoil to use.
Original GOE 549 or Retro MS13 or MS15.
