Hi All,
I've been looking for local slopes to Navan Co. Meath and wanted to see if anyone has flown on the following areas?
- Hill of Tara?
- Slane, overlooking the Boyne?
- Loughcrew?
- Kells, near the tower overlooking the old road?
- Clougherhead, north of drogheda?
- Collon, North of Slane?
There's lillte or no iinfo on these places so just wanted to gather more details if anyone has input that would be great thanks.
Stephen

How yab, only seeing this post now apologies for the late reply. In short no I've not found anything worth talking about but Richard has found a slope just north of Dundalk which looks very promising and it's only 40 mins from Navan. Where are you based?

Hi all. New to the forum. I'm near slane co.meath. i found a reasonable place:Dropped pin

Its a few km west of slane. It would only be good for northerly winds though. There is a higher spot just to the south of the road there and it has a fairy fort surrounded by furze. Its private land which is a pity because its southern slope is nice. The lad i run with knows the owner and said "ah you'd be grand!" so there may need to be a follow up.....
.
The hill of slane is ok too for easterlies and southerlies. Parking is there and public access. I tried sloping my foamie glider when i was starting out and it did ok in the easterly wind! Someone with bigger and better gliders should have no problem.

Just a short, poorly made video of my session.

Hi Ollie,
Welcome to the forum :)
That looks like a very nice place to fly!
Seems to be about an hour from me, I would not mind giving it a shot on a good day :)
