Hi Gerry.
Have not done much work on the skylark in the last few months. But it is almost finished. Should be finished this year some time. Just doing some work on my K8 at the moment.

good to hear alan, looking forward to seeing some photos sometime. soon maybe?

Hey Gerry
Update on the K13 I've just bought 10m of solartex :D I'm finishing off a bird of time at the minute which I've stuck a motor in and then I'm gonna make a start on the wings of the k13 :D
My aim this year is to get it finished :D
A quick question Gerry how did you attach the canopy to the fuselage did you hinge it or use another method

Hi Gerry. I hope to have some pictures up of the work I'm doing on my K8 in the next few weeks. I'm making a hatch on the fuselage where the wings join to make it easier to assemble. I'm not sure when I'll get back to working on the Skylark. I'm having health problems at the moment and it's hard to get the enthusiasm to work when your not feeling well. But all going well I hope to have it finished before the summer.
Andrew, I know what you mean. I have two pilots from AH Designs. A 1/4 and 1/5 scale one. Both of them have legs that appear to way longer than they should be. In fact I'm probably going to have to amputate the 1/5 scale pilots legs to get him to fit in my Skylark. I also have a 1/4 scale pilot from Premier Pilots and he seems to be about right. He's the one in my K8.

Tape to hold canopies! Or nothing :)
A glider without stuff holding by pieces of tape fly poorly. fact!
-
    you're funny Fred tapes not very scale like
Was think of using 3 or 4 magnets to hold it in place
-
again, good to hear on progress andrew.
re hinges, i use the du-bro round barbed ones on the ask 13 and 18. they look quite realistic and work well. my 13 is 21 years old this year and i had no problems with the canopy until i hit it with my boot and split the plastic right at the hinge points.
i use spring loaded hatch catches to keep the canopies closed.
the canopy on the asw 20 is held on by a tight fitting piece of fibre glass strip at the back which engages in the top of the fuse and again a spring loaded hatch catch at the front.
i used small strong magnets (neodymium i think they're called)on a hatch on my ka3 and they stay well stuck in place.
