Anyone here partake in a bit during the winter??
-
JP & I have done in the past, gets harder the older you get though. :-\ :-\
Some of the best flying I've had has been in the Winter months, just need to wrap p well and really protect the hands. Helps if you can get the car close too :) :)
-
Yea I usually fly off the beach over the winter
Mind you the north wind would cut the face of you
-
Yes - we fly through the winter from Kilakee. Weather permitting of course so in reality there can be long gaps in activity. We try and meet 2-2.30 Saturday afternoons at the car park on the Featherbed. Speaking of which - this coming Saturday looks promising.

Yes there are a few of us from SRFC that brave the elements. Full thermal gear necessary! Kilakee mainly. The odd time at old Wicklow head.
Would venture to Mt Leinster if there was a get together organised and weather looked promising. Harder to do with the shorter days.
Cheers
Conor

I try to get to the Old Head once a month for the winter. Plenty of wind but can get cold. As Scorpio said wrap up and prepare for the elements. Would there be much interest in a winter meeting? Would have to be organised on the week as the weather is so changeable.

I'd try and get down for a Winter meeting Ralph

Kevin O D and his son joined me for a cold but enjoyable session on the North face of Clara (Millstreet) today.
