Title: Lacken Tomorrow?

Anyone fancy some gliding on Saturday at Lacken?  a few of us are going to be there if you want to come join. Should be there from 12.00 onwards if anybody is interested.

First question, were is Lacken ?
I am interested in flying today so its a flip of the coin were I go to.
Vector is fully ballasted and in need of some lift.

Hi Keith, winds started out in the West and ended up in the North West in the afternoon.
I had some of the best flying of my life !!!!!!!!!!!
When it blows in the Sperrins it sure does give me a thrill .
33-42 mph winds gave me a wee tingle up my spine.
I tried to explain the feeling I had to my friends last night over a pint and they reckon I should be locked up.

Yes Richard, down here they  were west(ish) to start but  veered a little more northerly later in the pm. Don’t think they were quite as strong as you had though, only about 50Km/h (30mph in old money)

I know what you mean about tingles up and down the spine. I’d describe it as like having sex when you’re a teenager,…….it’s the anticipation of it all! (But then I did go out with some pretty weird girls. In fact, they weren’t pretty at all,...... just weird.They were the only ones that would have me! :oops: )

When the wind is blowing at gale force, and you’re having trouble standing on the ridge, you can’t hear anything but the wind, the model is wiggling and trying to wrench itself out of your hand and you’re wondering if it’s going to launch, or just go completely out of control! Either way it takes a lot of concentration to fly in high wind conditions. And provides a lot of satisfaction when, at the end of the day, you go home knowing you've done it. :wink:

I find I always sleep well at nights after windy day flying. :)

May be I’m just getting old! :(
