Just checked the trip over and it's indeed steep enough but carpooling should make that a lot more affordable.
If we get a group together, I'm definitely up for it!!

Just need to book the dates... We've a bit of time yet

Scale / Multiplex Contest Line Asw27... Rising from a 25+ year nap

Afraid of glass, I had a fractured fuse on a multiplex ASW27.
I FINALLY managed to muster the courage to give it a new go.

Managed to mess up two weeks ago with dodgy epoxy, but cleaned up and finally back to a useable fuselage.

Now to produce a canopy for it 🫣
Any ideas?

Quick update:

I was on Clermont Cairn a few weeks back and the site is still very much accessible. good few slopes in the area for easterlies most only suited for smaller gliders.
The Cairn itself is easily accessible and plenty of parking - looks like nearly all directions but N-NW have access to a usable slope although landing might be challenging.

Took a spin around and found amazing W facing slopes on the "Forest Drive" at Slieve Gullion. Wind was southernly when I was there which wasn't great but will certainly take a glider or two that way when we visit again.
