Hi Ralph. To get the ball rolling, I will be at the aerotow, likely Saturday only. One or both of the lads may come with me. You have my mobile!I'll be bringing the Ka-8; do you have towlines?
Thanks, Kevin

You've clearly gone mad building this. I have to google a Shrike but I have a mental picture of a slightly faster and fatter version of a Shorts 330 but without the fun of a ramp to maybe drop stuff!!!!!!! :)

Multiplex. Was cheap from either Hollein shop or Lindinger. Can’t remember. Very handy for centering servos to get servo arm geometry and pushrod length right.

Tail feathers attached and nothing binding!

Thought I would post a few pictures of my Wasabi, another pandemic build dusted down last week. I had this in the box for over ten years. Its a lovely model, actually reminds me a bit of the Ahi from Dreamflight (last pic), except that it is all composite. I think I bought it just before Fred offered his Wasabi ECO, or was it Joe, I don't remember now.
Pictures show the box contents first. Wings are finished now with servos installed, covers cut and pushrods made up. The red underside should make a nice contrast when flying. Ply servo tray was glassed into the fuselage tonight. When the epoxy dries I can trim off the excess and fit the elevator and rudder servos. I went off on a tangent and started to make up an elevator pushrod from carbon tube until Ralph suggested that I go back to my roots and use balsa square stock for the pushrod. I have that cut to length now with two threaded wire ends tack expoxied in place. I can sand and trim it tomorrow a little and then bind the ends with thread and cyano exactly as per my Mascot IC trainer when I was 17. See if you can age me now from that reference!. Elevator bellcrank is made up ready to be assembled once these jobs are sorted. Then its onto rudder pull-pull install, rudder post etc. A few evenings should have it ready to slope.

Was just gluing the washers onto the bell crank for my Wasabi. Pics to follow. Glued two fingers to it!!!!!! Might not go cutting anything important today. Not my day  8)

I like the trim. Did you print those yourself? Nice job.

Very interested Fred in how you mount this. I have a retract for my L213 (still to be kitted out!) but I wasn't going to try to install it. Cutting the ope in the fuselage leaves me cold!!!!!

Thanks Gerry for the info. I'm working my way through the different build blogs on the forum taking screen shots of details before I start work. I'm tempted by a film covering but a certain gentleman in west Cork is convincing me to go with Oratex. He might be right; I'll see!
I must order up bits and bobs this week from Hollein shop before I get working so no immediate rush to make a decision. I have a Wasabi that I bought back in 2006 on the bench at the moment to be assembled. It's like chalk and cheese looking at the two planes side by side.
I will definitely post pics as I go.

Ger, I'm starting into finishing off a 1/4 scale Ka3 that I picked up unfinished from Ralph. I was just reading around the various build blogs. What did you cover your Ka3 in? What do you generally use? I'm tempted to order Oracover, but I must admit that I might just stick with Orafilm for expediency. I know it will be a little bit shiny, but 100m off the slope will anyone notice?
How did you finish your red one with the white wing striping? It looks very well.
Thanks
Kevin

And one more. This is a Speedo Pro Mk2. I bought it in 2012 I think but finally took it out of the box. It should be fun.
