Got another Glider . .
« on: October 01, 2011, 22:21:09 PM »
Did a deal with one of our Club members and swapped a Losi mini RockCrawler for a only flown once before
 ST Model Fox

Heres some photos of my new toy...
After I added my own style to it...
CG set at 45mm.

New alloy spinner fitted with a 10x6 Prop.

Hi-Vis Tail.

Under the Canopy..
Orange 6 channel Rx with R100 Satellite Receiver , Stock motor/ ESC / Servos
Running 1500mAh Li-Po / 3amp UBEC ( just incase)

LED from UBEC to light up inside of the canopy..
Lets me know if the battery is still pluged in..

The under side..

So I'll be flying the Fox tomorrow , if the weather is right..

Here's a up-date  . .

Got out at the weekend and headed for the Old Head of Kinsale, brought along the ST Fox and Multiplex Cúlaris...

First two flights where with the Fox,,, wind was blowing around 15mph WSW and the sun was low in the sky to my left...Which ment I could only use half the slope(sun blinding me on the left))

Well for a small (1.8m) foamie the Fox is very fast , alot faster then I thought it would fly... Needed alot of trim to get it flying straight , but once there is flew very well, but acro is not my style at the moment... maybe next year when I've been flying longer...

Well done Sean.

You’re getting quite a bit of experience with all these different models aren’t you.

I’ll bet when you think back to those first Skyhawks  you flew it must seem half a lifetime ago, er?

For my part I don’t think it matters whether you fly acro, scale, sport, racing, ……large, small, …..expensive, cheap or anything else. The Key to enjoying this hobby is to fly what you enjoy. ……….In other words simply have fun. If you’re doing that, then you’re winner every time!

Try not to run out of airspeed, altitude and ideas....... all at the same time.

I think when I get back home with a glider still in one piece ,
 I'm defo a winner..  and I do enjoy it . .

Yeah... I think I've come on well it the last year,,
Got a good few gliders in the hanger ( attic/mancave ) to keep me happy...

tonight I was given a Hydro plane , so that should be fun too...
