OK, picking up what Fred mentioned over on another thread, it seems Mt. Leinster is one spot that works in ANY wind direction?  If that is true, I doubt very much there are many others like that!

We certainly cannot make such a boast in Co. Kerry.  It would be essential to meet in a central spot and make a final choice on the day here.  That said, the quality of the slopes that would then be available are world-class in terms of lift.

I would love to hear from the Cork guys?  Are there for instance alternatives to Old Head of Kinsale if the wind is not blowing SW?

And from the Shannon guys, at to the suitablility of Killakee (I'm sure I read somewhere that Killakee works in any wind direction?)?

AAaargh!  Geting any response is like trying to get blood out of a stone!  Can we start a fund to buy computers for some of the other flyers out there?

OK, returning to the March 30th get-together.

My UK guests will be with me on the west coast on Friday and Saturday 28th and 29th March, so I was thinking it may make sense for us to drive over to the famous, legendary Mt. Leinster for Sunday?  They could possibly stay over somewhere on the east coast that night, as they are returning on the ferry the next morning.

Any thoughts on this?

Hey, will it be any good weather in Kilakee tomorrow? :)
I think my addiction to RC is becoming active again!  :D  :D

Chris - Mount Leinster sounds good for the March meeting but I am unfortunately double booked that weekend so will not be able to make it.

Icewind - tomorrow's weather does not look too good.  If I can see the mountains tomorrow and its not too windy I might try and get to Killakee in the afternoon, but I would be surprised if it is flyable, at least for me.  Great photos from last Sunday by the way - must remember my sunglasses next time!!!

Well guys, my guests are on their way, come hell or high water (looks like both  ).

Is Sunday still on for a get together at Mt. Leinster to lob a few gliders into the rain and sleet?

Great :D .

Windguru is doing really weird things for the longer term forecasts, never seen such changes every time I look. I can only assume they don't really know what is going on, so things could still change a lot before Sunday, it seems.....

Oh fanks Chris!! I'll share my favorite chocy bic'ys with you :D
Er...........do we think there will be enough wind on Sunday guys? The forecasts I'm seeing predict very calm conditions.

Don't talk to me about the forecasts  .  My friends are driving over from the UK for a few days flying in Ireland, so I'm checking the weather all the time, and it keeps changing, so I haven't a clue?!  Seems the only forecast we can rely on is for the next or the same day....

Er..., Happy Days - how will I know its you - will you be the one wearing a black-and-white tux (as per your avatar)?  And, how do you like to be addressed - "Happy", or "Days"? :?:

I always look at windfinder, and it's always changing... no way to trust it.
Windguru is the same, i wonder if the pay version is more stable in the results.

Oh, ......you are a Silly Billy Chris.

You'll know me because I'm the only novice pilot you'll ever meet who goes WEEEEEEEE all the time!. (It's very embarrassing) :(
(Just look for the guy with a rather battered white foamy who keeps crashing into the hillside,..............that'll be me!)

As for how I like to be addressed: My other 'alf calls me "Grumpy" I've also been known to answer to "You" along with numerous expletives that I don't think the administrator would allow me to write.

Lets hope the wind picks up a bit.

Fingers crossed lads!
