Stemme S10 VT over Telluride Colorado
« on: July 01, 2008, 16:31:12 PM »
A few photos from me in a Stemme over the Rockys!
Airport is at almost 10,000 feet! Motored up to about 12,000 then thermaled up to around 17,000 before heading into the mountains. Thermals were just OK for them that day climbing at about 800 feet a minute. Stunning place to fly as you can see from the photos.

The airport

The valley below

Climbing

Heading for the mountains

A bit of slope soaring!

Getting a feel for the rudder

Heading home

This is a Stemme S-10 (this one is in OZ)

:D  :D Good times!

Fantastic views, must have been some experience! But one question Joe,................ :?:  Why were you in the right hand seat?
Try not to run out of airspeed, altitude and ideas....... all at the same time.

Did you took the controls for a little while ?

It's work to some people!! Life is tough

Didn't fly, just held the stick and put my feet on the rudders to feel what was goin on.
