Looking good phil, the panel lines set a model off. Have not got round to producing any decals for the panels yet, just can't get any time at the moment to complete the various vents and panel drawings. Send me a few pics when you finish the weathering.

Hi Phil,
Really nice model. for weathering you cant beat an airbrush but a similar effect can be achieved with water based paint and a sponge used with very light dabbing. If not happy you can wipe it off with a damp cloth and start again. Don't use pure black but mix up some white with very little black adding as required to make a subtle darkish grey (depends on model colour) until happy with the effect.Once done clearcoat over and paint sealed.

Weathering just about complete on all the flying surfaces now, Ive used various shades of brown, orange and grey to try and recreate the effect of a few hundred hours of low level flying in Peru.

Maybe just a few more oil stains on the underside and she's done ready for the clearcote.  The trick is knowing when to stop! Sometimes less is more, as they say...

It's also never easy doing the weathering indoors under artificial lighting, it looks very different once under sunlight!  Anyway, its only a bit of fun in an attempt to take the shine off the model.

Hiya all just thought I'd share a project I have been working on and hope to get finished soon.
Aermacchi MB339 PSS. Span 1.625metre(64 inch)
Fiberglass fuse. Foam veneered wings.
I did the fuse layup a couple of months ago and finally got round to cutting the wings last night. Will take a bit of testing with the fuse layup to get the right compromise between weigh and strength and also the wing profile to see what is going to work best. Will finish this off over the next month or two whenever I'm at home and will keep you posted of my progress.

HIJOE WERE DID U GET THE FUZ FROM FOR THE AERMACCHI THANKS

I have started with my build and have a build blog running on another forum!
In order to not take over and duplicate everything on here, you can find the blog at http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=89993

Cheers
Dave.

Hi JP I am looking for a set of decals to finish this baby off. Only 5 years I think for this one.  I know my rudder is upside down, it is distressed ;-( .

What do you use t do the panel lines? pen, pencil?

Should be ready for test flying in the next week or two. Now to the tip tanks.

Ronan dépêchez-toi !

PS thanks Joe for the Kit and JP for the moldings

Looking very good Ralph!
But, not sure if you have noticed, but I think, it is safe to say, that, maybe you don't know, or realised yet, but I am quiet convinced, if not 100% sure that your rudder is the wrong way around!  :P

Ok, I'm far away already!
