May be your luck is in Fred. This Sunday is looking good. Gentle N / NW breezes. Couldn't be better for the North slope of Big L. if you're looking for a gentle first flight.
Weather could change between now and then of course, but keep an eye on it, you never know your luck.

Sorry for the small photo, doing it on the go!
Thanks to the Irish weather, I can't set it up outside for a last photo, but the ASH is ready to fly!
AUW is 8.2Kgs. Not bad at all, was expecting around 10 kgs!

First flight in tow with Ronan sometimes this week :)

Alright, catching up!
Did I said it flew? And very nicely at that!

First Flight was done by Michel Leroyer. When you have a specialist of High aspect ratio wings, you just have to let them do it!  :D

Anyway, all he said after a minute was "perfect, do not touch anything!).
The glider flies very very well, it is almost too easy!
The look in the sky is fantastic with those big thin wings. Very quiet model as well on low passes.
Regarding the lack of flaps, that did raised a few eyebrows that I did not put any.
My argument was that if you select a good profile, no need for me to play with switches etc etc on my radio... After a few pilots tried it, they agreed!
Flaps not needed, that thing slow down nicely, and go up in any thermals (compared on the day with other machines with the full stuff)

Airbrakes (500mm) are more than enough to slow it down, but again, the glider is not vicious at all.

All in all, very happy  :D

Ronan with man tool to widen a last minute change on the fuselage :p

Those wings are bendy! I have to say, on the ground, it does not look great (looks sad :( ) but in the air...  :o  :o
