hi andrew,

glad to help but please, please, slow down. the idea is to have the rib fairings on the top of the top spar and on the bottom of the bottom spar. this will give you a much better finish to the wing root. much more scale-like and well worth the effort in the end.

thinking further ahead, if you fit a large curved fairing on top only, it could be difficult to fit the top sheeting because the sheeting goes from a concave shape at the fairing to a convex shape towards the leading edge. in other words, a compound curve. not easy to work with over a fairly small area. just something else to ponder over.

hi andy,

i like the idea of the few beers, good thinking buddies!!!

i plan to be at big l, not sure yet for 1 day or 2. i'll have the k13 and 18 with me so you can see how mine fits together.

now if alan and ralph bring their 8's and fred brings his 1 and 3, we could have a right old 'schleicher' fly-in!!

any more k's out there i wonder?

of course, that's only the vintage lot. what about the modern grp models?
interesting possibilities i thing you'll agree.

Fred

after a great weekend at big L came back and sorted out the airbrakes and have them installed in the wing

on the down side my flying club was dissolved on friday night and some one burnt down the club house and the shed  :(

if it wasn't for gliding and the friends i have north and south of the border i don't think i'd be flying models at the minute  :(  :(
