Post by: rogallo on July 31, 2009, 08:31:45 AM
Hi all I am still trying to finish the backstrom for Retroplane :D  All I need to finish is some 6mm and 8mm solid carbon rod, anyone know where I can get some easily please?

Thanks

What lengths Ralph and I'll check the "model" shop here. No guarantees though, it's pretty crap!

Hi Ralph,

For 8mm, I have a few at home (but glass with black epoxy, looks like carbone  :P )
For the rear rod on my Backstrom, I used a brass tube from Homebase... No strenght needed there, this is just an incidence pin really.

I have the alum tubes in the wing as per plan and need to get anything 8mm and 6mm to fit in the bloody tubes. I am guessing but I would say at least 2 feet for the 8mm.
Fred teh glass stuff sounds okay, might meet you next month on Mount L  at the glide in?

Thanks

Ralph

Hey Ralph,

Sure, no pb, I can give you a 1m rod, or smaller, I might have one cutted already (sorry, I talk metric, let me know the lenght, or I'll compare with mine anyway   )

Don't hesitate to remind me, as I'm well able to forget !
