Retroplane... In Ireland !
Happy Days:
Well, my Phase 6 aint vintage either. So in deference to the Retroplaners I'll fly further along the ridge so as not spoil their view of vintage planes in the air.
See you there Alan. :)

Tomorrow looks nasty weather wise, has anyone any info on whats happening on the slopes, I am heading down from the north on Saturday to wexford, if there is no flying on, we will just go to the base camp at morris castle and leave the slopes for Sunday.
JohnPearson:
Well guys, just got a phone call from Bill Scott of nimsa, who is at the base camp, flying tomorrow so far is a no no, there is some indoor flying arranged for the afternoon, hopefully Sunday will be better.

--- Quote from: "Happy Days" ---
The west slope is better than the South one.

Keith,
is this west slope ?
"driving from Bunclody, just pass the turn to Big L, there is a car park on a left hand side , just before road drops down to valley" ?
or is it someshere here - short before Nine Stones car park ?
Dennis
Happy Days:
Hey Dennis,
The west slope is before Nine Stones car park. (When comming along the road from Bunclody.)
The best way to explain is:-------- Imagine you are at Nine Stones car park and driving back towards Bunclody. As you drive away from Nine Stones the road goes around the edge of the side of the mountain. There is a steep drop on the left side of the road. However eventually there becomes a flat-ish area of grass on the left side of the road. That is the top of the "lower" west slope.
If you walk across that flat-ish grass area you will come to the top of the slope. ( I guess it's about 3/4mile from Nine Stones)
The car park you refered to does have a west facing slope but has a very poor landing area. It's realy only suitable for foamies.
See you there,......
K.
