I was intending to be at the N.I. Airshow this weekend, but my "other 'alf" doesn't want to go now, saying it would be too cold facing the sea in a north wind, so I might pop down to Mt L. and annoy you lot on Sunday :) !

B.T.W. anyone for a spot of combat .........Tally-Ho!

Slight change of plan for me: ( : SHE, (who must be obeyed) has just informed me that WE are going out on Sunday. (She says she wants to go somewhere she's never been before. I suggested the kitchen.............The idea didn't go down very well  )

So I'll be up there on Saturday pm. Be afraid Fred, be very afraid!

Change of plan for me too:  my full-size gliding Saturday at Kilkenny has been cancelled/postponed (surprise, surprise!).

However, the weather for Saturday seems to be deteriorating all the time, maybe I'll drive through not so early on Saturday, with the main goal to be at the slope nice and early Sunday..

Well that was good fun wasn't it! And so nice to meet up with so many like minded flyers. :D

I have to say that Saturday was my type of flying. Give flight controll box, a combat wing and a force 8 gale and I'm be pretty close to heaven. Sunday's lighter conditions posed a very different challange. Maybe a bit too genteel for my rather clumsy abilities.
Many thanks for the words of encouragement I recieved. (The insults from Joe I just treat with the contempt they deserve  )

So,.....when's the next one???

Thanks for posting the photos Anthony. Now that was a good weekends flying in my book. Thanks to all for coming along. Great to have so many people and gliders at Mt Leinster. Looking forward to the next one. Maybe Limerick next time? I heard talk of something down there in the next couple of months?

Yes, good pictures Anthony. I recon you understand a bit about photography, well done.

Encouragement? Joe   Does that mean I can expect more of the same in future? (Heaven help me!)

Great pics, guys!

Yes, I want to add my thanks to all who helped organise this event!  Great craic all round, and a great bunch of guys!

Seems though, my planes don't like sharing the sky with other models..  The only time I seem to get control glitches is when I attend a fly-in...  Maybe there's a message for me there... :?:

Just one small fly in the oitment from my point of view:  I found that power models doing 3D stuff in front of the flying line very distracting and annoying.  I know it's a free world - anyone has the right to do that if that is their inclination.  It is just my personal view that when a bunch of glider guiders organise to get together and enjoy their (mostly) silent machines, that power-only toys should stay in the car....  If one wants to fly and enjoy such models, one needs only go to your local flying patch (or even fly off your own front lawn) - you don't need to drive half-way across the country to a remote mountain-side to do so...

Hi,

Thanks a mill for organising a great day out. How much did it cost to have the nice weather delivered?
Mt Leinster is a beautifull place. We will come again for sure.

I just joined your forum today on the back of meeting you guys on sunday. I posted a thank you in the gliding forum but i suppose I should have posted it here. Anyway I don't use inet forums generally so it took me a few hours to find my way around.

Nice pics Fred, you are a bit sneaky with that camera, I was not aware you were going around taking photos to put on this site. Nice job.

Thanks Joe for your warm welcome.

Ralph next time I will bring buns...

Cheers
D.
At least we walk towards our crashes and not run screaming from them ;)
