1/4 Scale Ka-1

Alan_Perse:
Looks Great. Did you use a Jig when souldering it together?

joe:
Yeah the brass looks very good with the varnished wood. Nice!

Fred:
Thank you both  :D

Alan, no jig at all.. Tried with a jig, but spent more time to try to keep everything together than soldering !
So, paper tape and fingers to hold all that (well, burnt fingers now...)
Just a good prep workand that goes very quickly.

I just have to glue the clear plastic, then glue the brass frame to the wood...

Instead of gluing the plastic sheets, I'll try to have a go at nail them...

Fred:
Final frame...

Fred:
Ok, somebody reminded me that I never showed the finished product !
Checked all my threads, and yep, forgot!

Ka1 is finished for a while now, just waiting for the maiden flight which will certainly occur during Retroplane at this stage.. Just to add a slight stress to the process!  :P

So, here are the photos!

The happy pilot come from Premier Pilots ( http://www.premierpilots.net/ ) and came with full options! Cap, but also parachutes, leather helmet and googles, leather coat etc etc! Very impressive, and the best 1/4 scale pilot I ever had!!
Fits the Ka1, but also the Ka3 and Grunau like a glove ! (I'll take more photos of that a bit later)

And with the Retroplane flag!  :D  :P
