To all club members
As a club, we need to raise a bit of funds for the upcoming Retroplane event. No worries, not that much, and that will be only once ! O:)
As you all know, the club will host the 2009 Retroplane at Mt Leinster, and we will have people in base camp for 2 weeks. I was thinking, in order to make the long stay as easy as possible for our guests, of buying a big Gazebo (10x3 mtrs) and have it installed for breakfast/drinks/bbq at the campsite.
I already have 2 gazebos that I use every year for Retroplane, and I will add that to the lot, to have a big dry confortable space for everybody (well.. fingers crossed, no rain for the 2 weeks !).
We don't have club fees, on the base that slope soaring, well, it's free ! (So far.. We might expect an "wind usage tax" on the next emergency budget to milk us even more ! ) therefore, we certainly are the poorest club in Ireland \
/ , and that make us cool (on top of the fact that we are all flying gliders, like true slope soarers !
) but poor still...
Anyway, we need to raise about 200 euros, as I found a Gazebo for this price incl shipping for Ireland. But I'm looking for a less expensive one.
By the way, this is not mandatory, and there is no minimum or maximum money you can give, or not. No names, no amounts will be shared, but I will give the total collected each time, for everybody to keep track of the funds raised.
If we go over the target of 200 euros, and we find a cheaper Gazebo, we will donate the surplus to charity (if you have a name of one, let us know !).
If we don't make the target, Joe agreed to have the shop to add the rest of the money to pay for it.
For Paypal users, please send the money to : fredmarie@ifrance.com
Cash at the slope (hidden somewhere, as exchange of cash by 2 blokes on a mountain can look weird for passer by ! ).
Again, this is not mandatory, you can give any amount you like, or nothing at all ! This is only on a voluntary basis, and no names or single amounts will be given !Fred
