Fiu - A Lightweight Slope Wing
« on: December 03, 2009, 19:24:31 PM »
Decided I needed an agile lightweight slope model as the last couple of slope trips have been in <10mph winds. Found the Fiu at www.jivaro.org aame place as the Madslide

The pic below is 3 hours work. Just releasing the ailerons, covering and RC install and it's done

That looks like a nice little sloper. Whats the wing span? It doesn't look like its more than 2 foot.

Hey Bill,

Good choice ! Actually built 3 or 4 of them  :D
Free plan in a French magazine, a good 10 years ago. The Fiu actually was the first model I brought with me the first time I came in Ireland (really compact model!)
Have fun, and keep it light !  :D
Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!

It's VERY light, so I'm hoping it will be a nice model for light days

A productive weekend as I couldn't get flying   :)  :x
Three of my projects have progressed and one is finished.

Completed Fiu. Just need a day  to go and fly now!!

I know the colours are shocking, but anybody who saw my Pelicano fly in Sept knows it's VERY easy to see in the sky   (Apart from "blind" Englishman who hit it TWICE! Hey Keith!!)

Colour blind apparently!! It'll look sky blue to Keith. Not that the colour matters. If it moves he'll go for it!!

I guessin the workshop has warmed up a bit Bill. Thats why you gone on this building rampage

Bill, you obviously haven’t realized this little secret which I‘m about to tell you. (Please keep it to yourself, I wouldn’t want everyone to know)

Fact:………

When you fly one of your planes, you put that plane at risk.

When Joe flys a plane, he puts that plane at risk.

But when I’m flying,……..everyone’s plane is at risk!

(That’s why I’m so good at combat, :D ……I do it naturally!! )

Keith
Try not to run out of airspeed, altitude and ideas....... all at the same time.
