Thanks Keith, now I can take David Cameron down off the dartboard

Just looked at the forecast again and best wind I can find is still only 9mph :x  :x

Thanks Keith for the sound advice.
I have taped together a windrider Fox today.
They are reportedly ok for light winds, plus they bounce lol

Alright guys, what's the plan ?
Who's coming, who's not ?
If nothing comes out tonight, according to all the previous messages, the favour goes to cancel/report the meeting.

I'll take a decision tonight if nothing new comes out.

Well this is true!  Unfortunately, John, there aren’t many people in the world with sufficient culture and breading to appreciate these finer aspects of life. (In fact, apart from me, I think you’re the only one! :( )

I had Windrider Fox, :D  Richard. They do prefer light stuff so you never know, she might get airborne. (Ed has one too. He recons they perform better if all the airframe is covered in tape.)

Oh,……and as to the Glide-In this weekend. I’ll pop up to the slopes for a chat and a cup of tea and a Bun. There might even be some flying as well. :D
The forecast for here today was 6-10Km/h. In fact there were extended periods of speeds up to 15Km/h.
Doesn’t mean that will be the same at the weekend, but…..”Hope springs Eternal”.

Count me In

K.

Well if anything it looks like the weekend is going to warm. If someone brought a bungee then anyone with a tow hook could get some flights in. I have a bungee but I can't garantee I will be there. If I can make it, it will be only be on the Sunday sometime.

I think I'll probably give it a miss Fred.
Long, expensive drive if there's not a decent chance of good flying.
We also have a thermal comp on this Sunday which I could fly in.  :?:

Was  not sure whether I would have car but looks like I might so I was going to try and get down on Saturday (I am away to Clare on Sunday).  We have had good flying in light conditions before at Mt Leinster - and I'll bring a bungee!

Ok, so, after re-read of the entire thread, the meeting is.... a GO!  :D

We can't move it to a further date, and cancelling it because the weather is going to be good, I can't really take that decision!  :P

So, I will be at the slope at around 10ish on Saturday, everybody's welcome of course.
No worries if you cannot come because of the lack of wind, we'll have another one in September !  :D  :D  And in only a few weeks, we have the West meeting  :D  (shame I'm going to miss it!!  :!:  :!:  BUNNNNSSSSSS!!!)

Bill, if you have already booked a room, don't cancel it, I take it ! If you've already paid, let me know, and I'll send you a Paypal  :D

Bring some floaters, just in case, or even some electric stuff (no shame this time... NOT!).
I will have a BBQ with me! Bring some food, or I'll buy stuff for it, let me know, could be nice to have a lunch at the slope together, especially if we have a sunny weather!  :D  Male bonding at the slope, Keith is going to love it!    :P

Er,…..were you intending to use CA or Epoxy?  Fred.  Count me out either way. I’m a happily married man! (Well,…..married.)(Well,….not actually married, just sort of married! If you get my drift.)

Anyway, I’ll be on the slope from about 1pm Saturday. Got to take the wife to the vet in the morning. Something wrong with her horses teeth.(More expense  )

I’ll bring the flat V tail Thingy and the ASW22. There’re the only things I’ve got that “float”. Might bring a electric foamie, if that’s going to be allowed?

Pitty there's not a runway there, we could do some aerotowing! :D

O.K. Fred sorry, Richard, Bill and myself, have had a long talk and have decided to give this weekend a miss!. Wind forcast is still poor, and I was hoping to give the DR808 a good workout, however not to be. We hope that we can organise a trip down later this summer some weekend, so we will give you and Keith a call.

Funny enough, I was thinking the same ! Aerotowing should have been our plan B!
So, enraged, I covered the wings of my tow plane and try to get it ready asap for the summer !

Ok, now, who have a tow hook ??   :P

Yeah, bring some electric stuff, just in case, but I'm sure that will stay in the boot of the car!  8-[

OK Fred, I had 3 rooms booked. I'll phone and cancel 2 tomorrow and let them know you'll be taking the other one. Nothing has been paid for yet.

Hey John, no worries, totally understand, that's a really long drive for you guys !

After Retroplane, I planned to come up to you for some sloping! We'll talk about that too (well, and with Bill, I think we are going to spend a long time together stuck in a car!  :P  :D )
