I would have to agree with Fred. Those green plugs are a pain to solder strongly. I had two on my K8 and the connections kept on breaking so I had to change them.

By the way, forgot about the 5 flat pins from MPX !  :oops:
Slightly easier to solder than the green ones in my opinion

with the 6 pin multiplex plugs, once I'm sure all works OK, I pot the wires in epoxy to take the strain off the wire/solder joint

Now that’s a good idea Bill. :)  I'd been trying to imagine some way of securing the outer insulation of the wires to reduce the physical stress on the electrical joints.
Your idea also reduces the possibility of corrosion on the joint as well.
