Trip to Kinsale this morning in 25-30kph SW winds. French theme evident with Ralph’s Pilatus B4 pictured flying very well. Yellow and blue scheme worked well in the winter sun. Eoins 2m Quark handled the wind and faired better than dads mini Pike which had to be dug out of the hill after imitating a dart!!!! We left early as all getting soft. I think we need to move to a warmer climate !! 😀
Happy new year everyone.

Looks fabulous. Lovely build. I presume that's the Orme in the background? Been a while since I was there....!

Thanks Gerry for the hospitality. Eoin clocked up a lot of flying off of the point. Great spot for smaller gliders!

Not sure what to say to that one Ralph??!!! Are you shopping around for least penance? ::) ::) Offer appreciated but I got a 2kg bag of lead shot in a pouch for diving exactly as Bill suggested on E-bay. Will make balancing the Swift grand and easy .....

I do something similar Bill. Usually tape a mixing cup to the nose on a string and fill it with coins, then weight the lot once happy and cut the right amount of lead from a sheet I had, fold it up tight and install.
I have run out of lead so I was only this week googling fishing tackle shops to buy lead shot just as you described. I was going to gun in the lead with some silicone. Your method does get the weight right into the nose and epoxy would be best.
I’ll go on e-bay tonight and see what I find!

That's great Bill. Thank you. Where did you find it?!!!!!
Just need to balance it so. I'm guessing it needs a good blow Fred?

Hey Fred. I’m guessing 75-80mm from LE at the root. It would be great to have an idea before first (re)flight!
