Type: Open to all gliders + Start of season Bring and Buy

18-19 April 2015
Event: ISR Slope Fest
Type: Open to all gliders

26-27 September 2015
Event: ISR Slope Fest - End of season meeting
Type; Open to all gliders

This is of course without the usual impromptu and normal weekends :)

There is again a big gap. Anything in May, June and Summer you would like to organise, let me know!
Would like to see some aerotow action too this year :)

Cork, Shannon, any dates yet?
NI?

FALAISE - For those of you interested, this is the 3rd week end of September.
MENEZ-HOM - as I get them
VIELLES TOILES - 4-5-6 July 2015  (near Bordeaux) /!\ LIMITED NUMBER OF PILOTS!
MACON - TBA

I will go to Falaise, and I will be in France the last week in June (a bit of sun and flying  :D ) but my schedule does not allow me for much more trips abroad, unless we do something all together, a short trip  :?:

************************************************************
Hi all,

This is this time of the year again (well, Ok, a bit earlier than usual, but seeing the very successful year we had, better get organised earlier for 2015!)

I need all clubs to send me the meeting dates you have for 2015!
Need to be sent to the MACI for the next meeting (21st of January if I remember)

Send the request to me directly (maci@gliderireland.net, glider@maci.ie) or post it here (I'll do a bit of clean-up as we go along).

Lots of things to do and organise, and I already have lots of requests from abroad (so as a few invitations!  :D )

I would really like to get something of an Aerotowing nature to be organised... Any takers?
I can help with anything I can.

Oh, and something is sure, we will have the visit of the French contingent this year again  :D

Belgium, Germany, UK, US already on the list, but we need to get the dates set as early as we can.

Any questions, ideas, events etc etc, please let me know of course :)

Fred

Thanks for that Fred, at least I know what sort of weather to expect for summer 2015. Rain, and low cloud followed by cold winds and more rain for good measure!

    True!
But I have to say, the weather was good... Until we all ended up in Cork, where we flew in the mist at Kinsale.

So I'll blame those guys from that Republic down south      :P

Oh NO  ! We haven’t got to put up with you showing all of us how to fly properly again, have we?

On second thoughts, :?:  it could be fun to learn from a “pro.“  See if you can coincide your trip with a glide-in Severri. :D  (I think I’ve spelt your name wrong, sorry)

Thanks for the compliment Keith but I think you might have had too much tea last summer!  ;-)

We'll see what happens, limited resources and all that malarkey.

Dates added. Pretty much the same as next year.

Again, a big gap between May and September. If anybody wants to get something organised, let me know :)

Maybe a bit of aerotowing  :?:  :D

For March, I moved the date a week end further. Also, that has been asked before, so here we go, there will also be a Bring and Buy!
Can be a good start of the season for some, buying some new to you gliders, planes etc, and also for others, to get rid of a few things that have accumulated during the winter break :)

In April, we will have the visit of the French contingent, so book this date! Guaranteed laughs, with possibility of a bit of flying! (between 2 pommeaux!)

We will have lots of visitors from around Europe this year too. Travel packs already arranged and sent, but if some visitors dates clashes, we might get something "organised" at the slope :)

As uausal, any ideas, events etc etc, feel free to let me know if you need any help etc :)

Bring & Buy on Mt lienster???
« Reply #9 on: December 30, 2014, 20:56:45 PM »
Bring & Buy on Mt Lienster?

I’m just wondering how that is likely to pan out. In my mind’s eye I’m seeing people loading their cars up with unwanted items, to bring them to a windy (or worse, possibly wet) mountainside to offer them for sale, knowing that they might actually sell precisely nothing and have to take all their “goodies” back with them and unload the car when they get home. :!:

I recon it would be better to have an “exchange of purchased items” at Big L rather than a bring & buy. How about this? :?: ……………

People who have items for sale take a picture of them,…..(the items for sale I mean, not a picture of themselves! ) (I though I’d just explain that for the benefit of any foreigners who might intend to come along  ) and post a description here on the forum. What I mean is, the potential seller takes a single picture of all, or a lot of the items he intends to sell. This will save taking (and posting) lots of individual pictures of the items for sale.
People who want to know more about a single item can ask for further info on line and if the seller wants to, they can post individual pictures of those items the potential buyer has expressed interest in.

Then,…………..if buyer and seller agree a price, the rest is obvious. If buyer and seller don’t agree a price, or the buyer wants to see the item in the flesh, the seller takes the item to the glide in with a fair knowledge that he might get a sale on the day.

.
This way sellers will only have to load the actual items that they have a reasonable chance of selling. This will leave more room for models that they intend to fly. :D

Anyone got any (civilized ) comments?
