Uncertain visitor from germany
« on: July 09, 2017, 19:18:42 PM »
Hi together,

next week i gonna visit your great country and i will bring my mavic pro with me to generate great footage from your country.
I know the standard-flying rules from the IAA and i am beware of data protection questions and i know that i don`t have to register my mavic pro. I am visitor an i like to take private shots an private videos. Nothing commercial or for profit or for youtube...Just for me. So far so good.

But at the moment i am a little bit scary and confused about the rule from http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/    "PLEASE NOTE: THE USE OF DRONES IS NOT PERMITTED AT NATIONAL MONUMENT SITES."

What does that mean? I understand, if i am not allowed to fly over a national monument. But i would like to know if its ok to take es specific distance to a national monument, for example 100 meters. That would be ok for me. Can any one help me with that question?

An other question is, that i am not sure if i can fly at the cliffs of moher or on other cliff-hotspots in ireland. At the moment i will come to ireland during the bird nesting season....If i won`t fly next to a bird colony owuld that be ok in Irland?

Thank you so much for your answers!!!

Fred

Oh boy!

I only see this now!!

Well, I know it is waaayyy too late and impolite, but I hope you had a good stay!

To answer your question, yes, you need registration with the IAA, and of course, flying in public places without permission is forbidden.
Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!
